I glimpsed a clip on TV of GHW Bush in tears at a podium. Wha’ happen’?

Found it! Look in the AP video section here, it’s the video titled “Tearful Bush 41 Breaks Down During Jeb Tribute”
Olbermann hates Bush II, so this is likely from a mean place, but I think it’s plausible.
Bush I realizes mid-speech that the Bush dynasty is over… at least for a while. Bush fatigue in '92 led to Jeb losing the Florida gubernatorial race, which derailed his presidential ambitions… thus relegating the franchise to GWB.
GWB totally abandons the moderation and bipartisanship from the Texas days, becomes beholden to the Religious Right, creates a quagmire of epic proportions in the Middle East that will ultimately be the legacy of the Bush name. Bush I realizes that had Jeb ended up in the White House, he would have charted a course that would have gained respect from the Right… and probably beyond, being that Jeb’s the smart one.
Shit, I’d cry, and cry a lot, too!
The DNA results came back. Duba is his biological son.

I recently saw a stand-up comedy performance on TV from GHW Bush’s days, but the weird thing was, I had to listen for a long time (to an unfunny routine at that) before I could figure out which Bush the comedian was talking about. Every joke about Bush and Iraq seemed to be equally applicable to both. There was even a joke about the president playing golf when he should be working!
I even think there were jokes hinting that Iran was “next.”
It was kind of eerie.
This makes me wonder whether its true, as Olberman says, that little Bush’s actions in going to war in Iraq (and so on) are not what big Bush wanted him to do.

I, too, was puzzled by this. Firstly, why’s he crying? Secondly, why is it all over the news? I can only muster two guesses:

He’s calculatingly trying to warm America up to Jeb for '08? But Jeb has said he’s not running in '08, but maybe he’s vying for something else.

GHWB has just learned he has a terminal disease and got choked up thinking about his loving son.
Bonus guess: He was drunk.
He’s eleventy billion years old. I think it’s possible his grasp on reality might be a little tenuous as well as his grip on his emotions. It’s possible he was upset about his son’s loss in '92 but it makes no sense to cry about it now, it certainly didn’t break his spirit or stop Jeb from being governor eventually (unfortunately).
I’m not a fan or anything, but I think it was just nakhes over his favorite son. I’ve read in several places that he and Barbara have always had high hopes and great respect for Jeb and are just amazed that it was Dubya that became President.
Could be worse.
