I live in NH, registered unenrolled, and I received a bunch of the robo-calls from the RNCC (which it only mentions at the very very end). The calls have stopped now, though, as they seem to be illegal under NH law, but I can verify what the OP says firsthand.
The call begins in a friendly female voice as follows: “Hello. I’m calling with information about Paul Hodes.” [the Dem candidate]
Of course, as the OP states, at this point most people hang up, thinking it was a pro-Hodes call. Repeat ad nauseum, and people have really been getting mad. I have seen locals say and post things along the lines of “That’s it, I’m voting against Hodes to let him know what I think of his campaign tactics!” So damned if it doesn’t actually work.
Every two years, the same rant…It utterly sucks, beyone all theoretical limits of neutron density suckitude…that a citizens access to voting and security of voting should be dependent on whether that ciitizen lives in an affluent neighborhood, or not. It stinks on ice, stinks up the room, it reeks and rots. By an odd coincidence, one particular political party finds itself exploiting that fact every two* fucking* years! They enchance the civic power of the comfortable at the expense of the poor.
So the Daily KOS is God’s Honest Truth?
As far as allegations go, investigate 'em, I says. If proven, prosecute 'em, I says. Regardless of party.
But don’t piss on my head and tell me it’s only raining on Democrats.
Here’s another non-blog linky link from a lefty new source.
Considering the organization, I’m much more willing to ascribe these allegations to incompetence and individual carelessness than any deliberate organization-wide attempt at fraud. But it still don’t look good.
So we only worry about what’s happening today? Sorry, I’m not wired that way. While I don’t condone any instance of willfull disenfranchisement, then or now, I do look askance as ridiculously weighted OPs that make no pretence of overlooking their own past. Mote, remove thyself from thine own eye.
As far as things changing as they stay the same…how many dead people do you think voted Democrat in Chicago today? I’m willing to wager that Daley the Younger learned well at the feet of Daley the Elder.
Nope, not at all, although it is at least current, and therefore can be verified fairly easily. On the other hand, the OP also included a link to a news station, which I do indeed put above all four of your links, even if they had been current.
Then we’re in agreement.
Your weather forecast was from two years ago. I’m inclined to believe that some dirty tricks have come from the Democratic side during this election, but haven’t seen any evidence of it so far, as opposed to evidence pointing towards that other group. When it comes out, I’ll happily condemn it.
I’d give the one accuser a bit more credibility if she hadn’t gotten a job with the Republicans before coming forward with her accusations. Otherwise, I see mismanagement as well as potential other issues to warrant a thorough investigation, followed by punishment where warranted, but at this point, I see no actual evidence of malicious wrongdoing. If I had to guess, I’d guess there is likely some, but until then, it’s just a fired worker making allegations, as well as evidence of poor management.
Agreed on both counts, although I actually feel that there are probably individuals within the organization that have crossed lines, but that’s just a gut instinct. It still doesn’t compare to what is being documented throughout this thread.
Perhaps it’s because we’ve discussed the past transgressions ad nauseam here?
Bring out the evidence, even if it’s poor, and then I’ll be glad to discuss it.
The point is not whether the ploy actually affected the election. It is that they are attempting to subvert the process. They are deliberatelyundermining the democracy and should be prosecuted.
