GOPRO Battery Management

I notice that if I leave the camera in recording mode until it shuts itself off, there is still some life in the battery as you can power up the camera for a short time until it shuts itself off again. The point being that the camera doesn’t drain the battery dead.

My question is if letting the camera run until it shuts off is taking the battery down to a harmful level. Do I need to be more careful about watching the battery time and if so, at what point do I need to be changing them out?

Most modern electronics - and certainly all electronics made by reputable name-brand companies - are designed to shut off before there is any harm to the battery. I wouldn’t waste time worrying about this.

I figured that was the case, but there is so much hysteria about batteries, I guess I got infected by it a little.

Thanks!
