Whoa, a 25 year old mare foaling, is that some kind of record? (Pun sorta intended, as I could have changed my wording, but it made me laugh!) Dun is my absolute favorite color/pattern, along with appaloosa, particularly lepoard appaloosa. Any photos of the foal at an older age?
Your friend’s Poms are, from my moniter, orange sables. Satine has very heavy sableing and a good mask, and so is registered as just a sable. Yes, every Pom I know thinks it is a Rottweiller. Mine routinely terrorize a friend’s Rhodesian Ridgeback/Chesapeak Bay Retriever/AmStaff/Wolf mix. All Miss Sadie would have to do is sit on them, but she adopts the submissive pose and allows them to bark themselves stupid! It’s not the best trait a toy breed could have, I have to be careful when they are on leash out for walks, as they will instigate arguments with larger dogs they meet on the way. They are superb watchdogs, I know whenever anyone is close to my home, and the very best of companions! I was never a small dog person before I became so gimpy, but I sure do love my fluff butts!
Awww I Loved the pic of Zoe sleeping. Too cute.
He really is a joy. He has the most expressive eyes and gives the funniest looks. He’s a very good boy. (Well, today he is. Ask me again tomorrow.) We love him bunches. I love your poms, by the way. I’m not too familiar with poms. How big do they get? I just love their bright little eyes. Though I think their eyes are what I like the most about dogs. It’s where their personalities really shine through.
Ludy, the first picture of Alli made me laugh!
All such pretty pets!
Wow, thank you. I don’t think it’s quite calendar caliber, though. It was an old camera that needed a cleaning, so the picture is rather dirty. The way the shadow is across her eye kinda spoils the look of her face a bit. And if I’d known I was going to have a such a good photo op, I’d have brushed her a bit. She was so fluffy that when she’d clean the fur on her chest she couldn’t always bend her neck back far enough to get the hair off her tongue. I see a few wet tufts in the picture. (At least it’s not a lock of hair curled up from her chest with the ends in her mouth.)
But while we’re on the subject. Among the many, many pet pictures on the board, almost everyone takes them from a standing position, looking down at the animal. My pictures improved spectacularly when I started laying down on my stomach to take them. I think when you’re with an animal, you’re aware of the space that the animal is in and you can watch it move around. For a still image, getting down to their eye level makes the image part of their world, instead of an outsider looking in.
(I have an even better picture of Maggie that I can’t find right now. It’s just a close-up of her face. And I take slides. You look at your cat in a whole new way when her face is projected six-by-ten feet on the living room wall.)
Meet The Hellhounds!
The boys, part Beagle/part Corgi, known as the Borgi Brigade, or just The Borg:

I knew I’d know the answer when I heard it!
Good luck on your show endeavors!
Holy crap, your fur coat has eyes!
My sweet, fluffy Buffy , a Yorkie-poo who shows more poodle than yorkie, and Sparky , a standard Rat [del]Terror[/del]Terrier. They’re both rescues.
Employing this method has enabled me to assemble an astonishing array of kitten nose and tongue photos. Not to mention my artsy collection of “cat spit on the lens” shots.
But seriously, you can get some really nice pictures this way if you have enough patience and lens cleaner. This one’s not too bad. (Aside from the clutter that is.)
Me and Rock at the gym. He’s such a showoff…
I love pet picture threads !
First, my babies no longer with me, Corey (sitting up) and Fancy. Gordon Setters; Corey was 14 when I lost him in 2003, and Fancy just 10, last July. RIP my babies.
Next is Papillon , Jay, soon to be 9 years old. He is the King.
Next, Papillon Cricket. 3 years old, and full of mischief.
My Kharma girl, Gordon Setter, soon to be 2 years old, and still wild as a March Hare.
Another Gordon Setter, my Nicky boy. Now 9 months old.
The kitties, Charlie & Ruby (Charlie is yellow, Ruby tabby)
And 3 unnamed fire bellied toads:
Hey PapSett. I don’t need a “how’d you choose your username” thread to know where yours came from.
LOL you got it !
Here’s some of ours…

OH OH OH OH OH !
Funniest Dog Picture EVER!
Valen, 7 years old. Pirate, 6 months old . - Valen tells Pirate that NO, bugging him is NOT allowed… and clamps his teeth around the puppy’s muzzle… they sat like that for a good 3 minutes, with Valen clamping down the minute the pup would try to move. All in all, I got plenty of time to grab the digital camera, turn it on, and snap this picture.
My current favourite photo, Bilbo laying claim to a feather.
His brother Mungo looking grumpy.
