Got to see a preview of HBO's "Ballers" last nite

It was free preview at a local movie theater. Stars Dwyane Johnson as a retired NFL defensive lineman who pissed away all his money, and is now working for a financial advisory firm under Rob Chordry to “monetize his stardom” by bringing in current players as clients.

What makes the show good is it does a good job of portraying professional athletes blowing their money and post-NFL futures away by spending foolishly and hanging out with n’er do wells. Another player gets cut after getting into a nightclub brawl, and The Rock has to find him a new NFL gig. And another player retired a little early, and is struggling to find a career after football.

Also features cameos by current and form NFL personalities such as Desean Jackson and Don Shula. My wife, who fucking HATES sports, even enjoyed it; she went in thinking it was going to be a sports version of Entourage and it was something much different.
