Govenor Scott Walker (R) WI

Welp, looks like the police union knows its long-term interest.

Aaand it’s with the people.

Is that right? When did I ever say any Democrat was doing anything wrong by obstructing? Please post a quote–should be easy since you seem so sure I said it.

I posted a quote of you saying obstructionism in and of itself is a bad thing (because you were talking about Republicans). So put your mouth where your ass is–show me doing what you are saying I did.

The problem I see with the Wisconsin Senators leaving Wisconsin is that what goes around comes around. With the State law as it is, this is an effective tactic if your intent is to bring the entire legislature to a halt. As an effective tactic, it will be copied by the other side, all sides, any sides.

While it may be a comfort when this tactic is viewed as a success by your side, it won’t be a comfort when the other side is successfully using it.

It is very hard to see this as a positive step in the political discourse of a State or the Nation.

I believe we will all come to rue the day this became an accepted or tolerated way to do business.

After nosing about here it comes as no surprise that none of you see the massive conflict in interest in public employees arbitrating against other public employees over public funds. No one is trying to get rid of collective bargaining. What is being presented is the only reasonable opinion which is that if you want to organize you should try you luck in the private sector.

The fact that the democratic side of the Wi legislator ran to Il to skirt their sworn duty only high-lights the fact that they realize that their phony baloney jobs depend on the perpetual motion machine that they have created which is arbitration of public employees.

Wrong.

Wait! Scott Walker isn’t trying to get rid of collective bargaining?

I’m so confused.

Hey, Samclem, could I bother you to check to see if Assi and The Bodhi have the same IP? I’d really love them to be the same guy, but I’m just not sure. :frowning:

Nor is it meant to be, it is an extreme gesture. It is an extreme gesture in response to a repugnant and cynical power grab. It has become clear that the objective of the exercise is for the party currently holding the most political power to use that power to ensure that they remain in power. No! No! Bad Republicans! Bad! Go lay down by your water dish!

They did it to ACORN, now they are doing it to the unions. Then comes legislation to slow down voter registration, because they know first time voters are tending Dem. If they could get away with disqualifying food stamp recipients from voting, they would do it.

This is more than just business as usual, grasping for power to make bad legislation. This is using bad legislation to grasp for power. Extra special no fucking good.

But really, what kind of protest is this, anyway? Well groomed people reeking of after shave and fabric softener. No crunchin’ truncheons, no tear gas. Free pizza from around the world. A fucking letter from the fucking cops congratulating and thanking!..*thanking!!!..*the protesters for being so fucking calm and fucking orderly!

All right, all right, its all to the good. Nobody gets hurt, the point gets across, nothing but win. But still, I mean…(grumble, grumble)…kids these days…(mutter, grumble)…Shelbyville…onion in my belt…Kaiser Sozay!..

Quite a cherrypick. If you want to organize, work in the private sector.

That goes for cops and firemen too.

Oh, so you are in support of removal of collective bargaining when it comes to the public sector. I just wanted to let you know you were talking a bunch of horseshit.

Sorry. You won’t get the answer you want.

Whichever. I can certainly believe there are two people as stupid as you are. I’d just rather there not be.

Only a jackass would pay an organized labor force AND an arbitrator to decide how much of the jackass’s money they would take.

If you want to organize join the private sector.

The “power grab” happened when the people elected the republican governor, dumped Feingold, republicans gained 15 seats in the state assembly while the democrats lost 12, and in the state senate republicans gained 4 seats while the dems lost 4.
It was the people’s “power grab”.

Remember what President Tingle Up My Leg said, “Elections have consequences.”

You called me stupid again. Ouch.

That comfortable feeling surrounding your feet is shoes fitting.

That explains the wild enthusiasm with which the people are cheering their beloved Governor.

Guaranteed loss of job. Nothing like giving up on the law of the land to defend your unjust ride.

Ah but he might.

Conspiracy to defraud the public would do just fine in this case. Not that I expect the Governor to do anything.

What is extreme eventually becomes the norm, if tolerated.

Come now; you’ve obviously been an observer of the US political scene long enough to realize that this is standard operating procedure for any political party. Of course they try to ensure they remain in power.

You would defend ACORN? I thought the case made for their corruption was pretty clear.

OK, perhaps you haven’t been observing the US political scene for the last 20 odd years. My apologies.
