Govenor Scott Walker (R) WI

And… I’ll post as many one liners as I want.

Because allowing public employees to bargain collectively with the politicians that they help elect goes against the public interest.

Because?

As a taxpayer, aren’t I, by definition, a member of “The Public?”

That depends, are you a liberal?

Gotcha, trolly; maybe you should change your name to supersmug.

You’re skipping ahead a few steps.

I was trying to keep in simple for slug and Sam.

Sorry.

I already posted:

Everybody knows that removing the right of public employees to collectively bargain goes against the public interest.
And my unsupported premise trumps yours. Just because it does.

(see: right up there in post #1032. It’s been said. So it is true. Your argument is now worthless.)

They are part of the public too. Teachers in South Dakota make 35,200 a year. Gotta cut that back. that is way too much for a person with an expensive education. The public interests demand they work for minimum wage.

And stupid is what stupid does…

35.2k..

180 (days) * 7 (hours) = 1260 (hours) = $27.94 per hour

Even with your worst case scenario (which is exactly why you pulled SD teachers out of you ass), it’s still the best paying non-labor part-time job in the world.

OMG!!! YOU’VE GOT TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN COMPUTER!!!1!!ELEVENTYONE!!

But that is NOT what this thread is about.

This thread is about whether or not Walker is justified in attempting to strip public unions from their ability to bargain collectively. I say yes. It goes against the public interest.

Banning collective bargaining by public employees is against the public interest.

Aptly put. I like to avoid getting carried away like that (at least font size-wise) by my calm-yet-strangely-powered brain. :stuck_out_tongue:

Uh, yeah. That pesky little “time” concept. One moment it’s taxpayer money, the next it’s not. Cha-ching!

I heard somewhere you can also purchase space with money if you have enough time. Not too sure 'bout that one, tho.

So “it’s none of my fucking business” what my taxpayer dollars get spent on after they are collected? Once it’s in the public coffers, it’s none of my business? Or does that only happen at the point when the civil servant cashes their paycheck?

Help me out here - I’m having a little trouble with that “time” concept at various points along the tax flow conversion to none-of-my-fucking-business phenomenon.

A little perspective.

Once again for the reading challenged: THAT’S NOT MY ARGUMENT.

Try reading what I’m actually saying, rather than what the little caricature of me that’s in your head says.

I’d support this if it went all the way and not some stupid baby step. What we need to do is stop people who benefit from tax dollars from voting period, or they’re just going to vote in people who promises them a bigger slice of the pie.

So:
[ul]
[li]Politicians - Yeah, run or hold office and you don’t get to vote. You’d just vote yourself a raise.[/li][li]Government Employee (From janitor to teacher to file clerk to soldier to White House Chief of Staff) - No vote, you’d just vote in people who would give you a raise.[/li][li]Work for a business applying for or possessing a government contract - No voting. You’d just elect people who would give you bigger contracts for less returns.[/li][li]Welfare - Hell no do you get to vote. Stop sucking the collective tit, fuckers.[/li][li]Medicare/Medicaid - No to you too. You’d just vote for people who promise not to take it away. Get private insurance, slacker.[/li][li]Social Security Recipients - Yeah… no. Still living off the government dollar. Wal Mart needs new greeters, you lazy bastards.[/li][li]People who use tax money funded resources such as Police, Fire, or public roads and schools - Look, you’re just going to elect the guy who promised to fix the potholes and prevent your house from burning down while teaching your kid how to read. How about we let someone unbeholden to the powers that be do it, huh?[/li][/ul]When the only people who can vote are the crazy survialist militias in Idaho we’ll final solve this problem once and for all. You’ll see.

It’s not possible to be this stupid and still manage to breathe. How’s the ventilator?

Maybe next contract you can bargain with the politician that your union bought to pay you per student.
(unless your ability to bargain collectively is removed)

I like the idea that the framers had… Only land owners get to vote.

You’re even stupider than I thought if you think teachers only work 7 hours a day.
