Yeah, you could get in trouble for bursting out in uncontrollable laughter.
For what office?
(I think you mean 2016.)
You were right, typo.
I recall seeing him on Forensic Files when he appeared as the local prosecutor. So at one time he was interested in investigating crimes that actually happened. What a difference corruption makes in a man.
He may not have feared for his seat, he just didn’t want to work where Democrats controlled the committees. Can Democrats win the seat? Who knows, after winning the Alabama Senate seat. I think Dems should field candidates and run hard everywhere, and when the Dems hold a 434-1 edge in the House they should work hard to unseat the 1.
See if Inglis wants his job back.
Chris Christie just got a job with ABC News, so I guess there are several markets for bullshitters.
I believe he used to be a prosecuting attorney - I saw him once on Forensic Files.
He was a good Congressman - hopefully he will be an equally good judge (if that’s how it turns out).
Regards,
Shodan
What else did he have time to do between Benghazi investigations? Or are those what you’re referring to?
The chance that South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District would vote for a Democrat is slightly worse than the chance that the United States Men’s National Soccer Team wins World Cup 2018 in Russia.
What does it take, in this world, to make a Republican unemployable? What disaster, what corruption, what malfeasance, what failure of governance, what level of unpopularity, ever disqualifies a Republican from being handed a high-level public perch by our media gatekeepers, and/or having their role in our public discourse go unquestioned?
I don’t know soccer - is that better or worse odds than a Dem winning an Alabama senate seat?
Yeah, I know that wouldn’t have happened without Moore’s dating teenagers in the '70s getting publicity.
Compassion. Tolerance. A republican craves not these things.
Roy Moore had won the position of Chief Justice in 2012 with only 51.7% of the votes. Under the circumstances, it wasn’t particularly surprising that his race for Senator was close.
The South Carolina 4th Congressional District, which has for some time represented the area around Greenville/Spartanburg, has been in Republican hands since the 1978 election, with the exception of three terms in the late '80s/early '90s, when it was won by the conservatively Democratic daughter of a former Governor and Senator (who, of course, had been a “Democrat” of the Southern variety). I believe that, since she lost the seat in the 1992 election, no Democrat has polled over 40% (except possibly once; one’s mind begins to glaze when reviewing the numbers). In addition, in presidential election years, for quite some time that district has produced the highest numbers in the state for Republican presidential candidates.
Suffice it to say, it is so reliably conservative, that in 2014, the Democrats didn’t even bother to run a candidate. Rep. Gowdy won election four times; the highest percentage a Democrat polled against him was in 2012: 33%.
As for the soccer, we didn’t even qualify for the finals in Russia.
According to ballotpedia.com this time there are 3 Democrats running, and officially the Republicans have none (although there are 3 who say they plan to run). And the deadline is March 30.
So if Christopher Wray resigns as head of the FBI over the Nunes memo – Director Gowdy???
Trip on the steps on your way out, you rat-faced fuck.
Given that Rep. Gowdy JUST announced he was not going to run, I don’t find the fact that there are no announced Republican candidates indicative of anything other than that no one from the party intended to challenge the incumbent.
That’s why I mentioned the filing date. These potential candidates need to decide if they really want to run and start building up their campaign now. This late start has to be a disadvantage. Maybe that the district leans so heavily Republican it doesn’t matter. But maybe this time it does.
Hopefully it pays a little more so he can finally afford a decent haircut.
I still can’t see this thread title without reacting “But Curt Gowdy’s been dead for years!”
