GrEs Gott from Rothenburg!

What can I say? I’m an Ijit for not posting the correct time. I appreciate you looking in all the same.

Ich wünsche Dir ein erfolgreiches Neues Jahr, meine Kleine!

If that was to me, I have no idea what it says. It not, disregard.

It just says, “I wish you a successful new year, little one”, and yes it was meant for you, so please do not disregard it! :D:D:D:D

 Well, thanks.

Happy New Year (and Birthday!) to you too.

You can thank a minor member of Patton’s staff that Rothenburg is there to enjoy.

I can’t find the cite at the moment, but I remember reading that as the 3[sup]rd[/sup] Army advanced the intelligence info was that Rothenburg was heavily defended. Some low ranking staffer, I believe it was a Major, was a historian and convinced Patton to scout the city before starting the heavy artillery assault that was planned. Patton, who was also a history buff, risked the lives of a scouting patrol who discovered that there was virtually no defense in the city, which was then bypassed to be taken easily by follow-up forces, almost without incident.

Even so, there were bombs dropped on the town. Mostly to “lighten the load” of the returning bombers.
