Grand Canyon Overlook opens in March

It’s worth seeing, but it’s basically a really big hole. Bryce Canyon, Arches National Park and The Badlands were more impressive to me.

Ale, look at the artist’s concept picture, (Scroll up from where the link opens) There are no supports under the glass area. There are cross pieces under the glass, but that shouldn’t be too obstructive.

Wee Bairn, It’s 70 feet , so you’d actually walk 140 feet. Does that make it worth the price?

Qadgop the Mercotan, I was going to mention that too. There’s a map at the bottom of the page.

CalMeacham, Overlook was my word, they call it a Skywalk. I remember a sky bridge in Kansas City… Sorry, if I confused you.

Mindfield, Here is a comparison of the worlds tallest structures.

Yep, I´ve seen the illustration, but the actual thing in construction looks much more bulky, the beams on the painting seem to be about 60 cm high while on the real thing they look more like 170 cm high. Also the space between the beams in the illustration is noticeably wider than on the actual structure.

I’d like to go check it out. I’m a Grand Canyon junkie.

You can’t really experience the Grand Canyon without going down into it, though. Looking up from the Colorado River–now, that’s an impressive view. Not the immense, sweeping vista out to the horizon, to be sure. But there’s something magical and wonderful down there that you just can’t imagine from atop the rim.

I would so do it, and I’m afraid of heights…but $25??? Ouch!

I was looking at this today, I’d definitely do it. Probably a major pucker-factor but I like that stuff.

So four inches of glass is scary but 1/8" of aluminum (airplane skin) is OK?

I can’t see through aluminum!

I think it’d be fun to go out to the end & begin jumping up & down just to watch everybody else panic.

#25? Cheap at the price for a truly unique experience.

So how long before an action movie’s final conflict is set there?
