Grand Theft Auto V

Since buying the game I’ve been conflicted playing the single-player story. I really want to dwell on every aspect, minigame and side-mission but I’ve been rushing through it instead, as I assume that part of the online version wiull be playing through heists/missions from the story-mode, but with multiple players, and I want to avoid spoilers. Does anyone know if my assumption is likely to be correct?

(I cannot believe my anxiety over a computer game - I just like it so much…)

My understanding is that all of the online stuff takes place prior to the events of the single-player campaign, so there will be no spoilers.

Thanks - I may start all over again and progress at a leisurely pace.

Of course, if your understanding is incorrect, I may have to hunt you down and riddle your car with bullets.

I just found a Eurogamer article that says the events take place after the campaign, so maybe you shouldn’t pay attention to me.

I have a feeling the experience can/will be a lot different, especially if you make different decisions.

Got the box an hour ago. Fucking love Amazon Prime. I have literally been looking forward to this since the PS3 was announced - the GTA game using the hardware at it maximum capacity. I feel all tingly in my man parts.

Dude, it must feel like Christmas morning again. To me GTA5 was a little slow and difficult during the intro missions, but as soon as you are free to roam the city it is amazing. Oh, and a tip on thumbstick aiming. Just point in the general direction of an enemy and squeeze the aim key (left trigger I think.) Squeezing the trigger engages the auto-aim and you should find yourself pointing at your targets chest. After you have taken down that target release the aim trigger and squeeze it again near the next target.

In GTA IV’s The Lost & The Damned there’s full frontal male nudity, from a middle aged congressman no less.

Finished the story last night. Is there anyone who didn’t choose Deathwish? “I picked C. Ain’t that a bitch?”

I also finished the story last night. I chose to

kill Trevor. It just seemed like the way the story had to end. Luckily, you can go back and replay the other choices to see how they turn out.

Early 40s professional with a very understanding wife (been a gamer my whole life). We also have a 3 year old, so lots of pauses when she wanders into the office

I played the game up to 70% completion and then started over when I realized how to make millions in the market and found a quasi glitch with some underwater treasure!

Now back to 60% and will finish it this week while the online wrinkles get worked out. The game is amazing.

BTW my gamer tag on Xbox is chargerrich, hope some dopers will hit me up for some online carnage!

Thanks  I figured that trick out quickly. And yes, Christmas morning again.

Man alive, I’ve missed loads of stuff! Including unknowingly gunning down Packie McCreary in a random encounter and losing him in heist missions and his dialogue about Niko. Guess he won’t be going bowling any time soon.

Anyone trying to find all the hidden packages?

I have found 5 so far… but it is time consuming (get a boat and scuba gear lol) so I will wait until I finished the story. Sitting at 15 million dollars and counting with 2 heists to go!

Anybody tried online yet? Judging by all the problems with race leaderboards and uploading photos, I’m assuming it won’t work well for days, if not weeks.

Does she like sport?

Try to keep your cash under $2 billion - they used a signed integer for the value, and no error checking if it flips to a negative value. Hopefully that’ll get patched.

I couldn’t get in for two hours today. I gave up and I’ll try later after I run some errands.

I’m not even trying for the next few weeks.

I’m looking forward to trying it out but don’t really expect to get in and play with friends for several days, if not more.
