Grand Theft Auto V

There’s only about 70 required missions. You’re probably actually more than 25% through it.

For reference’s sake, I have completed the main story, and did a fair amount of the optional stuff as well, and I am around 82% completion. You’ve still got a ways to go.

Wow. Trevor is hilarious. Go Trevor!

About the aiming trick, isn’t that a Michael exclusive trait, or am I missing out big time? Some of Trevor’s rampages have been super hard for me.

Michael has the aiming slo-mo, Franklin has driving slo-mo, and Trevor has temporary immortality (unless they’ve patched it to mere damage resistance.)

Still, shooting is easy on any setting other than free-aim. Just aim vaguely in the correct direction, hit the left trigger to lock on center-mass, aim slightly higher, and pull the right trigger for a headshot.

Hey Vinyl! Had a good time racing the “commute” map last night. I was there for about 2 hours before you joined so sorry I left after only a few races. I noticed you were trying to get your mic working but none of us could hear you.

Having a mic really makes the game fun… and join a crew!

Maybe I will see you again this weekend and we can race some more.

I take this back. They will die, but merely take more missile hits than seems quite reasonable.

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn’t realize what that kind of race entailed and by the time I dug my headset out of its cobwebby storage place and got it working, it was all over.

I think it works now, but crackles a bit when I touch the plug… and it’s an almost unused replacement for the original headset that crapped out. They kinda seem to be pieces of shit.

Could be worse - 99% of headset mics don’t seem to pick up my voice at all. Even if they’re cranked up enough to pick up someone whispering across the room. The other 1% seem to break after 30 seconds of use.
BTW: anyone with an online character should receive 2 payments of $250K starting with the patch that opens up the real-money store next week.

Is that the Nigerian Prince mod? I’ve given him both my ingame and IRL bank details. Not a peep so far.

I’m still in single player and none of the missions are loading for me. I’ve hit a dead zone where I can only do side missions as any of the characters. Any ideas y’all?

So what am I going to miss out on by not completing flight school? Cause the helicopter is impossible to control and I will never complete that training.

Just joined the SDMB crew. I’m MCHume on PSN.

Still in single player mode. Even though I have plenty of time to play while I’m recovering from recent surgery, I think the discomfort and painkillers are screwing with my reaction time. Doesn’t matter, though, Trevor rocks!

Favourite drop-in scenes are Trevor spooning Floyd while whispering “there, there…” and Michael walking down a motel parking lot mumbling to himself “I just couldn’t make myself do it…”

You’re definitely going to need to learn to control the copters for some required missions but I feel your pain. They were driving me crazy until I was told to hold down L1 and R1 at the same time. This makes them easier to stabilize and I was eventually able to finish all the training courses.

I figured out the L2 auto aim thing. I went from Elmer Fudd to Rambo instantly.

“Be vewwy quiet… I’m hunting gwiefers!”

Ha-ha…no.

It’s Rockstar’s apology for the fubared launch of online.

Do the random missions! I’ve picked up a TON of useful people by doing that.

You know what’s fun? Plucking tractor-trailer units off the freeway with the chinook helicopter and then dropping them from 200m onto busy intersections.

A possible downside of using the auto-aim is that as far as I can tell, ‘Free Aim’ is the only choice in GTA Online, so you might find that horribly tricky in comparison.

I do like the ‘Solo’ option in Online, so I can go clothes-shopping without the worry of being gunned down as I leave the store.
