I thought they fixed the disappearing vehicle bug. Have you tried calling the insurance company?
I did not know about insurance.
Ah, well there you go then. If you own a garage, storing it there will automatically give you a tracker for free, but you need to visit LS Customs to get insurance. You need the tracker before you can get the insurance, though.
I do find the vehicle system quite strange. I just hi-jacked a nice muscle car, took it to LS Customs and in spending about $6000 on a tracker and insurance, this lovely car is now apparently mine - so I’m not sure what sense it makes to buy a new car outright.
God knows I need to save money wherever I can - my ‘spiv’ moustache alone cost $1700, and if I ever purchase the “La Cucaracha” car horn, that will be $25000!
I propose that we set up a worldwide 360 game this Saturday night.
Not sure if already mentioned, but the PC is due early 2014.
And the Rockstar logo was seen at a recent Nvidia conference, leading people to speculate that it’s going to be an NVidia optimized game.
You can steal most cars, respray them, and make them yours - but the best ones need to be bought; it’s just to keep everyone from running around in super cars all the time I think. I’m OK with that. When I get my stimulus GTA$ I’m buying the Debauchee 700 and modding it up.
Any car in the “sport” or “super” category cannot be jacked, you MUST buy it online to keep it. You can jack them to use in session but you cannot own it without online purchase.
This could be a possibility.
Edited to Add: I run the SDMB Friends of Friends Gamertag. Shoot an invite to it (if you’re not already on it), I’ll accept it, and then you can see all the Dopers that are friends of it as well, and you can send invites out through that. Why that instead of friending everyone in this thread? If your friends list is full, its a way to artificially embiggen it. Also, it helps to organize a cluster of friends and know where you know them from.
Double edit: The Gamertag is aaa SDMB
See, this is what always happens when low-class thugs come into a lot of money.
FYI LOUNE, I sent a request to that gamertag a week or two ago. (You had added me a long while back and I think I deleted it because it never seemed to be active.)
I will hit up that GT tonight… thanks!
BTW i am chargerrich
Not a lot of folks play multiplayer, but you can find some that do. With GTA:O, a lot of folks are dipping their toes in where they didn’t before.
Also, I haven’t looked at that Gamertag in a while either. I just added you.
You can buy an Elegy for free online, provided you have a social club account. It’s a rather nice ride.
I have been bouncing between story mode and online for the past week. Now that I’ve completed story mode, I’ll be spending more time in online, and will use the “crew only” option.
My first purchase with the stimulus money will be an apartment with 10 garage slots.
The apartment is okay. You’re better off with the garage.
1.04 is out today.
The better apartments come with the 10-car garages, so you get both.
And rumor is that you can’t plan a heist (a forthcoming feature) unless you have such an apartment, as they are the only ones with the planning boards.
Just the garage comes cheaper. It might be worth it later to get the apartment as well, but I don’t know.
Great. Ran the update, now GTA Online doesn’t work.
I’m trapped in the garage I bought, with no cars and no way out.
It seems to be touchier during the “Press A to play GTA: Online” splash screen. It hangs up at that point sometimes.
