Graphics Challenge 01

Wow, that’s a hard one.

I’m hoping this isn’t too obscure.

Blink!

Haha, you are ALL so screwed now!!!

WoooT!

Be back in a few minutes, hehhehee MUAHHAHAHAHHAHA!!

::evil grin::

This got a little more involved than I had planned LOL

Ugh, Terragen crashed twice already, once partway through what would’ve been an almost perfect render. :frowning:

The upgrade gives some nice new features, but I don’t remember the older versions having quite this many bugs. Oh well, I shall press on!

w00t, finished!

not quite as good as the original render that I lost (the sky was darker, more sinister and hopeless) but still rather good none the less.

Programs used: Rhino3d, TerraGen, Photoshop.

Very nice! My version of terragen is about…err… well over a year old. I really should upgrade one of these days

New version was just released in May, until then it had gone over 2 years without an update.

The guy got a job doing work on Startrek movies and such, I plan on going and seeing the next one just because he did the Planets in it. He has taken the Terragen engine to whole new levels, but is hesitant to release it to the public because it is his professional advantage over his competition.

Even in its current state it is a good alternative to Bryce, but a number of other engines have come along that actually blow Terragen away (built in support for trees and such) but Terragen still has the best interface and the easiest to understand option buttons and sliders and such.

Hopefully it will continue to be updated, before it was actually updated unofficially as bug patch releases were semi-steadily coming out for it, I do not know who was releasing them though (I would assume the original author, unless somebody else got ahold of the Source code besides the Mac dev people)

I do wish that I had my full rendering system setup, as it is I am only setup right now to do modeling and all of my rendering tools (except for PovRay, which I am not going to pull out unless I really have to. ) are down currently. :frowning: Gotta get Flamingo back up and running, Rhino3d rocks, McNeel Software Forever!

(yes I am a Software Co fan boy. )

Wow! Those are beyootiful!

Mine are crappy cuz all I use are MS Paint and Adobe Photodeluxe 2.0. :frowning:

I have Photoshop, but I don’t know how to use it yet.

Wah.

Be thankful, Corel’s photo software is a ton harder to use.

If you REALLY want to make your head go BoOmIeS then try out Painter some time.

::shudders::

THE PAIN, AAAAH!!! THE PAAAAIIIN!!!

::runs away and hides in a corner and mutters curses towards metacreations::

Ummm… not bad for the 5 minute effort I gave it.

A strange almost Warhol-esque Bookmark

Given more time I might have made something interesting, but this is just layer upon layer.

Does someone else want to post the next challenge? Or should I find another one?

I tried posting one but nobody took it up. :frowning:

Looks like that nominates you.

Awwwwww, I took it up!

Hehe thanks, I didn’t notice that until after refreshing the MPSIMP listing right after posting my above message, LOL. ^^ I had been refreshing the graphics art challenge 3 every few minutes up until then, hehe. What I get for letting my hopes lower. ^^

I saw it but I was sleepy and went to bed. I plan on working with it today

Big surprise there.
