Grass Court All set Up!

Just finished painting the lines and setting up the net. (perimeter netting goes up tomorrow) In its 52nd year, it used to be my old man’s, who passed away in '22, but strangely enough the new occupants like the aesthetics of the court and told me to maintain it despite the fact that they, themselves, don’t play, and have no intention to. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
The owner says he should be able to hit up some of the neighbours for weekend (only) use. Always feeling Wimbledon-y (coming up soon!) when working on it.
Arcane trivia: the old man and stepma went every second year to Wimbledon, and in (I think) '80, he got into a chat with Wimbledon’s head groundskeeper. Up until then, the Club used lime for the lines, but when dad told buddy that he uses latex paint for his lines, the next year the Club switched over from lime to paint for the lines.
:unamused_face:my mindboggling claim to fame.

If you build it, they will come.

Oh Kinsella can go jump in a lake.

That is a gorgeous place to play tennis, with the water just off the side!

I’d be compelled to play regularly if that was accessible to me.

May I ask where it’s located? (I want to get a sense of the climate. Is it a nice warm sunny day, with maybe a slight breeze, when you serve?)

If you’re ever around Victoria, BC, I’m sure the owner Bruce would accommodate.

EDIT: Ah, I see you’re from Florida, but yeah you were right - 25-degree C with a breeze coming off the bay.
