Didn’t find it in the University Library. I did find Europe : a cultural history by Peter Rietbergen, London : Routledge 1998.
Is that it?
Thanks, TTT, but I don’t think so. I recall now that this book maybe had an entire chapter devoted to 15th or 16th century Italian city-states like Venice and Florence.
Damn, and I thought I could push a book by a Dutch professor.
But seriously, could you give a bit more information? There are great books by Aries, Le Goff, Braudel. There are also books by people like Schama. Do you know the nationality of the author? And do you remember the size (number of pages), the period covered?
Sounds like Jacques Barzun’s From Dawn to Decadence. Pretty good book.
YES! That’s it! Thank you, CyberPundit. And you too, TTT, for the effort.
