Great debates and anger...

So, I was in the great debate forum and I got pissed at some Christian and yada yada yada…

what I’m wondering, is why do I get so fucking pissed off?
I mean I get really pissed off. I start acting childish, throw reason and maturity to the wind…

Sure, I could talk to my friends about this but if you have an opinion, please share it.

The question, I suppose, is why do I get so angry so easily?

At least I’m [ulr=http://www.notaterrorist.com]not a terrorist.

Because you can’t argue religion, nobody can.
The whole Great Debates forum seems to prove it.
That’s why I seldom bother with it. Nothing I haven’t heard many times before.

My advice, switch to another forum. Lots to choose from.

Jeez, sorry Lolo, it wasn’t me was it?

Anyway, I see by your registration date and your post count that your fairly new. Relax, the thick skin required for some of these debates takes time to grow. Argue for your own edification and not to win “points” (sometimes that takes the most restraint). I spent too much of my first few weeks fuming. With time, three facts will creep up to your realization. 1.)This is just a message board. 2.)Hey, I’m annonymous, I’ll never meet these people. 3.)Eureka! I just realized I don’t give a f*ck what that guy thinks, so why get mad?

Give it time.

I guess religion and politics have always been the bane of polite conversation. The recent events (I keep describing that day differently) could have caused me great arguments with friends via email about all of this from a political perspective, but I realized none of us are going to change our minds, so what’s the point in wasting the time & possibly losing a freind?

The important thing is to not go in there with the intent of changing people’s minds. I don’t post there frequently, but when I do, my goal is just to convince people that I’m not completely insane for thinking as I do. Sometimes that’s challenge enough.
