Nothing yet! We were told that the hospital will call us when our slot comes up. We’ve got a window of midnight to 6:00am (currently 8:30 our time) so chances are, it’ll happen in the next little bit.

We were told there were 9 people ahead of us on the induction list. Add to that the number of people coming in who happen to be in labor, and that equals the Chastains minus IttyBittyChastain at home on Sunday morning.
They’re supposed to call us, I guess.
Wish us luck, this isn’t going at all like we thought.
I don’t know nuthin’ ‘bout birthin’ babies but I had no idea that you had to get on a three-day + waiting list to have one.
Best of everything to you both. You’ve got one heck of a lifetime journey ahead of you.
Did you try slipping them a twenty and see if that speeds things up.

I hope she goes into labor on her own and doesn’t need any Pitocin to speed things up. After 2 inductions and then 1 on my own, I can definitely say that when you’re induced, labor pains are MUCH more severe and painful.
During my last (naturally), I actually thought “Wow, this isn’t so bad!”

Otherwise known as the Disturbing Childbirth Analogies thread. The refrgerator delivery one is probably the most apt, since y’all are waiting your turn to have a relatively large object moved through a relatively narrows space.

I like the pp’s point about “experts” - truth is, the only baby you’ll need to know about will be right in front of you. The rest of it is superfluous information that can create a lot of stress. One thick reference book & a trustworthy pediatrician should do it. SDMB moms are also awesome, for venting & the like.
That said, I will opine briefly (my 4-month-old son is sleeping on my shoulder while Hubby plays with his twin sister, so this is on my mind):

Don’t ever wake a sleeping baby (usually).

And don’t interrupt a contented one, even if you have something more fun & better for it to do. If your baby is happy staring at the mobile while it’s off, don’t turn it on or you’ll ruin the mojo & be forced to deal with the consequences.

Mine weren’t really fun or cute until they were almost 3 months old. The definitely didn’t “play” with their toys until 10 weeks, and wouldn’t sit still for stories at all until about 12.
