Great-Grandchild of the Movie Link Chain Game

So she does exist then? So what nationality is she? Pappas sounds Greek to me. So how many Greek films do I know? One. Z. Was she in that?

Well, Papas sounds Greek, but in this case she seems to do a lot of movies with Italian sounding names.

Hint 1: She was in a very famous WWII movie with an Italian place in the name that was released about 1961.

Hint 2: She is in a recent film which was a bit of a flop that was about Greeks and Italians, also during WWII.

Perhaps she is typecast?

I just checked in IMDB. She was, in fact, in Z. Leading actress, it looks like. Unfortunately everyone else in that damned movie appears to be French. There’s one that us non-French may have heard of (of course I’m disqualified).

You know, sometimes I’m so good I even impress myself.

I bow to your superior skill, Hutt. Unfortunately none of the famous Greek actors in that film. Hopefully Astorian (or some of the guys who play this overnight) are up on their French actors or it’s gonna be a long time before someone comes up with a solution for this one.

LOL ( yes really, but I am drunk so that makes it easier).

Is that a sentence? ( or do I sound too much like The Ryan now?)

Insert an “is” between “actors” and “in”.

[sub]In my world there are no auxilary verbs[/sub]

NOBODY ever heard of Irene Pappas?

You never saw “Zorba the Greek” or “The Guns of Navarone”? SHEESH.

Okay, since nobody’s playing a long, we’ll start over.

From “The Guns of Navarone,” I’ll say…

DAVID NIVEN

The Party

Gavin MacCleod (The LOOOOOOove BOOooat! Promises something for Everyooooooooooone!)

Or Captain Corelli’s Mandolin? Okay, maybe nobody saw that last one. Anyway, I’d love if you could post a link to a picture of her, I couldn’t find one. Especially if it’s one of her in Navarone.

FWIW Yves Montand was in Z, and was also in Jean de Florette, which would have got us to Gerard Depardieu, and then Andy McDowell, which just gets ugly, so it’s just as well we’ve started over.

PS I’m drawing a blank on Gavin McCleod right now. All I can think of is the Mary Tyler Moore show and those Carnival Cruise commercials.

Irene Papas * one P *
Can’t think of a movie with Gavin MacCleod, though.

Wow, you don’t see eyebrows like those on actresses anymore! Thanks for the pics, Mr. Cheese.

I’ve been waiting for ages to say that and now you’ve beaten me to it.
