Great harmonies in song

Riu Chiu – The Monkees

Beach Boys, “In My Room”
Gillian Welch and Allison Krauss, “I’ll Fly Away”

Naturally - Huey Lewis & The News

That was just outstanding! I haven’t seen that.

Apologies for the video/sound quality, but here are The Roches on “Tiny Toon Adventures.”

Early Beach Boys. Pick the song.

Beach Boys and Beatles, too many to name. But one of my other favorite harmonies is “Peace of Mind” by Boston.

The Four Tops had some nice harmonies.

Reach Out (I’ll Be There).
Walk Away Renee.

Boyz II Men too.

It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye.End of the Road.
Yesterday.

And Simon & Garfunkel.

Sound of Silence.
Scarborough Fair (with Andy Williams!)
The Boxer.

Anything by the Boswell Sisters.

Great thread! I love good harmony.
These are all (mostly) duets. I’ll think on the trios and quartets.

Linda Ronstadt and J.D.Souther’s harmonizing on Souther’s song “Faithless Love” includes some unusual, poignant intervals:

The feel reminds me of Gillian Welch’s harmonizing with her guitarist and collaborator David Jennings.

“Fat Bottomed Girls” by Queen must be mentioned not least because it is part of one the great rock-intro’s to one of the great rock songs. It’s the AC/DC anthem that never actually was an AC/DC anthem.

Thanks for posting this! I had no idea the Monkees could harmonize like that.

I love the little moment at about 1:10 when Davy and Peter share a grin, as if to say, “Yeah, this is pretty cool.”

That was cool.

Helplessly Hoping - Crosby, Stills and Nash

Talking Heads - Road to Nowhere - intro

Crowded House - Weather with you. When I heard this the very first time I thought it was a copy of CSN&Y

Charlie Dore - Pilot of the Airwaves - intro, with some support harmonies in chorus
The Andrews Sisters - So I really have to name this, you know it before you even click on the link

Steeleye Span -All around my hat

I’ve always liked John and Paul’s harmony on “Words of Love.”
