Great movies that you dreamed.

I’ve always been one of those people who remembers their dreams. And last night I had a great one.

Rather than work on my thesis I decided to go to a movie. At the theater was a Jackie Chan movie I had never heard of, Beautiful Dogs of the Devil so I decided to watch it. The basic plot line was that Jackie Chan(Bau) and Hugh Jackman(Shank) were murders and thieves in Hong Kong. But one of their deals went wrong and they ended up with the Tong wanting to kill them. So they went to an old dude who had a lot of mob power but was retired. He told them that he could get the Tong off of them, but they first had to help a Budhest monk/lama type guy sneak out of Tibet into Britain. But they had to finish the act before he could call them off, so they had to do it while people where trying to kill them. So they went to find the guy. When they finally got there they found the Monk played by… Andre the giant.(An odd casting choice I’ll admit but he was a really good playing a monk.) They realized that Andre couldn’t sneek onto a plane easily, so they decided to cross the Himilayas, and get on a boat in India. So they made the whole trek being followed by the killers, and having to fight their whole way through the country.
In particular there was one sniper assassin who was following them, Mr. Rudheddey(played by James Mason) who at one point had Andre in his sights, but for some reason didn’t pull the trigger. They finally make it to an Indian villiage. They are attacked by a huge group of killers and manage to kill them all. But then Rudheddy is in position, and pulls the trigger killing … Shank. Bau goes insane, grabs the killers uzis and starts shooting and killing everybody because he doesn’t know where the shot came from. Meanwhile Rudheddey casually walks off and phones his bosses to tell them the job is done, but in a surprising plot twist he doesn’t work for the Tong, but is a British agent.

Just about then the fire alarm in the theater went off, and we all had to leave. I got a ticket to go back and finish watching it the next day. Unfortunetly I woke up before I got to go back to the theater, and now I’m pissed because I really wanted to know how it ended, and now I can never find out :frowning:

It was the best movie I’ve seen in a while. The acting, and fight scenes were perfect and the cinematography was just amazing in the mountains.

Anybody else ever do this?

(I figure a non-existant movie doesn’t need to go in the Cafe Society, and it’s more of a poll than anything else)

Hmmm. See, I learned to read with comic books, so I more often dream up comic books. But it’s a similar experience … I’ve had some dreams of reading a comic in bed so vivid that I’d wake up, looking for the book that I’d apparently lost amongst the sheets for a minute before fully realizing what was going on. No movies, though.

You know what the problem is when I have these dreams? I always wake up before the climax of the film. All the threads are wrapping up, we’re just one step away, and then I wake up. There’s a metaphor for life and consciousness in there somewhere. I may have even learned the lesson by now, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t several hundred bad ass movies that I’ll never see the end to.

What I find really interesting about dreams like this is that there seems to be an actual narrative. Is that because the dreams had an actual narrative, or that as you approach the waking state your interprative part of the brain wakes up and adds a story to the previously random dream imagery? No way to tell for sure.

I think it may also be interesting to look at the form the dreams came in. When I was a kid I would dream of reading a book. In fact, my older brother would walk in on me sleeping and see me holding my hands above me like I had a book in my hands. Interesting, no?

I dreamed an episode of Futurama once.
But dangit, I can’t remember anything about it! (except that Hermes had a large role)

This is really pointless to do, but I have to correct myself here because I mistyped, and forgot a major part of the story. Rudheddey was never implied to work for the Tong. The reason that the Lama needed to be smuggled out of Tibet in the first place is that the chinese governement wanted him dead. So while the Tong were sending garden variety thugs to kill Bau and Shank, Rudheddey was implied to be a professional assassin sent by the Chinese to kill the Lama. Which is why him killing Shank and working for the British was such a surprise.

And I still wish I new how it ended, but you may be right Mofo. All of these dreams like this I have never reach the conclusion now that I think about it.

I once dreampt that I saw a movie that was kind of a Tim Burton “reimagining” of Toy Story…basically, it was Toy Story. but set 100 years after a bacteriological apocalypse that’d wiped out mankind. But the plot itself was pretty much Lethal Weapon, with Buzz and Woody in the lead “detective” roles, though I think they were military police, or something.

It was all very morose, and it wasn’t a comedy.

Hey, don’t look at me like that! If it were anime, it’d make a million bucks, easy.

I dreamed an excellent zombie movie the other night, great suspense and quite horrifying. It was most likely inspired by recently watching the new “Dawn of the dead”…although it was far superior:)

Well since you’ll never know how it ends how about this
Rudheddey killed Shank because his agency is trying to get Bau to want to kill the Tong leader, ummmm Chin? (I don’t know any good chinese names) played Chow Yun-Fat or somebody. This agency has been trying to get him for years, but has thus far been unable to. They hope that by killing Shank, Bau will assume it was the Tong’s and go for revenge, which he does, dragging the monk along with him. He basically back tracks his path forgetting about his misson to save monk almost gets him killed a few times. Finally he gets to Tong HQ and has a big fight blam blam blam kung fu action post matrix visual effects, all that good stuff. He’s finally got a gun to Chins head, but Chin has a gun to the monks. Bau is about to let the monk die to get his revenge, but remembers something Shank said about the most important thing is getting the monk to saftey. He decides to let Chin live to get the monk to saftey, and they all put their guns down. As Bau and the monk are leaving Chin starts to pull another gun out, and is immediatly shot. Rudheddey used the distraction caused by Bau to get into position, and has shot Chin. End of the movie the monk has gotten to Britain and Bau has joined him in building a temple in commemeration of Shank, however it ends with a foreboding shot of Rudheddey talking to someone about Bau and how he tested well, leaving it open for a sequal.

Man this post is SO Cool…

The best movie I’ve ever dreamed in my life was named "Kali and the Magic Stone"

This was a movie about a 17 year old village girl named Kali who was an apprentice to an old Wizard named Ra. Their village was at the base of a hill where a big castle stood. The castle had been siezed by an evil sorceress named Taundra. Taundra killed everyone in the castle and created and army of the dead, then sent this Army to conquer all the surrounding villages at the bottom of the hill. Every Village that fought back fell prey and each villager that died, his dead body rose to join the ranks of Taundra’s warriors. Kali’s village was under the magical protection of Ra, but Ra was very old and his strength was weakening, so he decided to send Kali on a quest. Ra gave her a magic septor,.a septor that posessed the power to destroy Taundra, but the septor was missing a very powerful stone that made its powers useless. This stone that was being kept in the castle where Taundra was. Kali’s quest was to fight her way through this army of corpses, witches, warlocks, and demons, reach the castle, and sieze the needed stone from Taundra, then say a magic chant that would remove every spell that Taundra cast over her victims. Also, Ra gave her a magic necklace that would protect her from any spell that her adversaries would try and cast on her. She was sternly warned that no matter what happened, she must **NEVER, EVER ** take this necklace off. To do so would surely mean her death. Kali left on her quest and managed to fight her way through every wicked adversary that came her way narrowly defeating each one. Now battle hardened and worn, she now reached Taundras castle and a great battle began in what used to be the throne room. Taundra produced a spiritual sword out of thin air, and Kali did the same by saying a magic chant and producing something called a “soul sword”. Taundra was much stronger than Kali was, and Kali was losing the battle badly. Finally Taundra managed to swing her sword downward right between Kali’s breast and cut her necklace off, “her only means of spiritual protection”. Kali now stood completely vunerable as Taundra closed in for the kill. Kali let out a warcry and driven by sheer terror and blinded by fear, swung her sword wildly at Taundra and fell up against the wall. Taundra stopped in her tracks and stood motionless, then her head slowly rolled back off her neck. Her lifeless body fell to the floor, and green acidic ooze poured out from her neck and burned into the hard marble floor. Kali , still shaken from fear, went to the throne and took the stone she came for, pulled out the septor she carried in a sache she wore across her back, and placed it into the septor wher it origionally belonged. With this she went outside and stood in fromt of the castle. The sun was rising behind her shining on her battle torn clothes as she said a magic chant

" By the power of this septor"
“let all hear what is said”
“let the living remain with the living”
“let the dead return to the dead”

With this she waved her septor across all the land in front of her, and all the corpses that were under Taundras spell all collapsed to dust. All the witches , demons and ungodly creatures that Taundra created also died, and every evil spell was broken. When she got back to her village she was hailed as a true hero and later carried back to the castle where she was made their new queen. The septor she held she vowed to use, to make sure that pure evil would NEVER seize their land ever again

The best part to me was right before I woke up, Kali sat in the castle window that night looking up at the stars… and said. “To all the angels that watched over me I thank you with all my heart… and most of all… Thank you… God Almighty”.
That was one dream I will remember for the rest of my life
