You know, like Breugel and Rubens and all those cats?
Seriously, does anyone know of artists who’ve mixed bodily secretions in with their paints? I’ve been trying to figure out if there would be any downside to my mixing, say, a nice dollop of snot into my green paint. At least symbolically, I would be then be able to feel personally more invested in my paintings. But if it would cause them to deteriorate quicker, maybe not so much.
I’m reminded of the story of a college writing teacher whose student was trying to be terribly avant garde. So he put white text on black paper, left pages blank, etc. (not that any of that was original).
Eventually, he wrote something like “Now I’m going to masturbate.”
The next page was stained with . . . well, you get it.
The teacher took a look at it and then asked the student, “And what do you plan to do when your publisher orders a first edition of 50,000 copies?”

I found her about 4 years ago. It left a deep enough impression that I still remember her username.
