Great tastes that go great together

I used to eat PB and pickle sandwiches as a child. Wanna know why? Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street ate them. Did you watch Sesame Street when you were growing up?

Smoked salmon and brie. Or cream cheese.

It used to be only I knew about the strawberries and balsamic vinegar, but then every crap-on-the-wall family restaurant in America jumped on the bandwagon. Sigh.

But they don’t use the goood balsamic.

The order in which you eat these two tastes doesn’t matter, but you MUST follow each mouthful instantaneously so that the magic of these combined tastes goes on and on and on and . . .

Freshly popped popcorn and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups at the movies. With a chaser of Diet Dr. Pepper.

Stilton cheese, aged port and almonds.

My parents love peaches and cottage cheese.

I like Lays sour cream & onion potato chips followed very closely by a handful of Reese’s Pieces.

Coffee sprinkled on vanilla ice cream.
Salted, shelled sunflower seeds sprinkled on Cool Whip and eaten right from the tub.

Make that ground coffee sprinkled…etc.

HHHHHMMMMM lots of good tasting ideas above.

I’ll add a personal favorite is papaya with deli duck strips [I forget the name in French].

When I was a kid: chocolate cake, chicken gravy and banana…uumm, ummm good.

cheese and milk
bananas & peanut butter sammiches
mashed potatoes & corn…preferrably making a little dent in your mashed potato pile and filling it up with corn.

Alternating tastes of vanilla ice cream and espresso.

Tomato, bacon, basil and ground pepper.

Popcorn and Junior Mints.

Instant coffee powder/crystals added to baked beans.

Meatloaf sandwiches.*

*I really need to stop obsessing.

Add a shot of vodka and you’re entering bloody mary territory.

Reeses Pieces and popcorn. I’d love to develop a peanut flavored popcorn.

yogurt and honey, there’s a greek company that sells strained yogurt and honey together in a special pack, gooood stuff.

White chocolate with coffee. Sainsburys in the UK used to make a bar of this and it was beyond delicious.

They don’t make it anymore. :frowning:

Thousand Island dressing and fried chicken.
Stewed tomatoes and buttered toast.
Smashed up croutons on spinach.
Chew up a Whopper malted milk ball and wash down with black coffee.

Back 20 some years ago when I smoked, I used to love to eat BBQ potato chips while smoking a cigarette. Nah, I don’t miss it.

Years ago, at a family gathering, my mother served sponge cake with strawberries and a choice of two toppings: a soft custard sauce, or whipped cream. Our reaction: why not both?

My sister declared it “the only desert not chocolate worth eating”.

[hijack]Oh, my God! Another Tulsa Doper![/hijack]

Oh, and I like peanut sauce on hamburgers.

Fried Mozarellla Sticks and Yellow Mustard

Mussels sauteed with Guiness (old style bottled, not draught) and Creole Mustard

I don’t get that anyone thinks this is weird. My mom used to make this for me when I was a kid, as a healthful snack. I have applesauce and cottage cheese in the fridge right now for this purpose. It’s great comfort food. And yet, if you mention it to people, they go “whaaaa?” I thought everyone ate applesauce and cottage cheese!

I also like cheddar cheese and chocolate. Hot cocoa and a quesadilla…mmmm. Delicious!

coconut and pineapple
garlic and hot peppers
