Law and Order - the Lennie Briscoe Years. Yes, there are some seasons available on Peacock for streaming, but the large majority of the Lennie Briscoe episodes are not. Those seasons are, IMHO, the best ones.
The first 20 seasons are all on Hulu now.
Good to know . I check Peacock from time to time, but I would have never thought of checking on Hulu.
justwatch.com or reelgood.com can tell you if a show is available streaming or for purchase. I don’t know the equivalent for antenna or cable, other than “where can I watch ‘X’?”
WeTV, BBC America, and several more all carry all L&O mothership. You just have to wait for the episodes you want to come around again on the gitar.
Another reason to buy a show on disc is cost. The 1966 Batman series is $1.99 an episode to stream. That’s $240 for the whole series. You can get a DVD set for under $30.
I wish I could find the series Frank’s Place on dvd. I did buy a set of discs from someone who recorded them off the TeeVee. Quality could be a whole lot better.
It’s less than $250 if you buy entire seasons. And if you sign up for emails from fanflix.co they have daily deals. For example, on the subject of classic superhero TV shows I just got all 6 seasons of The Adventures of Superman (the one with George Reeves) for only $15.
I’ve recently posted about the lack of streaming Wonderfalls on another thread, and I appreciate it being a prime example here.
My addition: Police Squad!, strangely missing from streaming. That’s odd, with the new upcoming Police Squad! movie.
On The Air (1992).
The whole series is $80 on Vudu right now. That’s too expensive for me still - but I bet it goes on sale around the holidays for $40-50. The portability of it may be worth the cost if you’re looking to buy it.
… you were in the middle of streaming it, and suddenly it’s not available? No warning, no “This title will vanish into the ether on Friday at midnight”.
That was me with Orphan Black. I’d watched two episodes, but was hooked. So I immediately bought the first season from Amazon, then bought more ON DVD (so I wouldn’t run into that again).
From the wiki:
In October 2008, CNN.com reported that because of music licensing issues, a DVD release would be unlikely.[12] However, on November 11, 2008, TVShowsOnDVD.com reported that plans are underway for an eventual DVD release, although Tim Reid has said that, due to the prohibitive costs of the music rights, a new musical score will be recorded that will “recreate the mood of the music.” He adds, “it has to be the mood of the show or I’d rather not do it.”[13] No date has been yet given for a release.
I’m guessing that never happened?
Great show, and Tatiana Maslany is amazing in it.
Yeah, no.
