With the success of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 1 and season 2 releases, as well as Friends and MAS*H and The Simpsons and so on, I think it’s been well established that DVD format can be a major money-maker for TV series. 24 is even doing a release of its first season on DVD, before the second season starts airing, to increase viewership. TV has caught on to the fact that if they release the good stuff on disc, we’ll snap it up. Now if only that will encourage them to make more good stuff…
Anyway, there are shows out there, some current, some long-neglected, that deserve the DVD treatment. And I mean the full-on, director and stars commentary, loaded with special features treatment. Here’s my list:

[li]Cupid[/li][li]Northern Exposure[/li][li]You Bet Your Life[/li][li]The Burns and Allen Show[/li][li]The West Wing[/li][/ul]
What shows would you like to see issued in a fan-friendly, full-season DVD format?
You know, I bet there’s a veritable gold mine in DVD releases of series that never made it into syndication. After all, what are they doing with them? They’re sitting on a shelf someplace, making the production companies and participants no money at all.
Meanwhile, a VHS copy of Cupid, the complete series, just sold on EBay for over two hundred dollars.
Robin of Sherwood, from the 80’s. I think you can get it in the UK, but that’s no help to me here in Texas. If it was just region coding, no problem. But it’s PAL not NTSC. Curses!
Jonathan Creek would be nice too, and somebody needs to light a fire under MPI to increase the pace of their Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes DVDs.
Futurama St. Elsewhere Grand Moonlighting Cheers High Incident CHiPS The Incredible Hulk Married with Children (mmm . . . Christina Applegate and Katey Sagal) Growing Pains (Tracey Gold and Joanna Kerns . . . )
