Your entire post is on target, but just to cure one possible misapprehension it is highly likely that she is well-educated. Women get the shaft in almost every possible way in SA, but they are increasingly well-educated. As of 2015 female college students ( including those studying abroad ), now outnumber men overall.
It’s still unequal of course - you have separate women’s colleges and female graduate students can find themselves forced to interact with male professors via video. But among the trends that might fundamentally change Saudi society, a better-educated underclass will not be least among them.

There is no such thing as “full sharia law”. There are many different flavors, and the various adherents probably all view their flavor as “just as full as any other”.

She was discussing how sharia law is applied. For example, Turkey is Muslim-majority, but have more of a secular system vs Saudi Arabia where sharia plays a dominant role. There are also mixed systems where sharia law is not dominant, but plays a significant role in the nation’s legal system.
