Great WoW April Fools Joke

Blizzard did it again with a very fun April Fools joke.

See the new Hero Bard Class.

Witness the new Molten Core expansion for console games (be sure to watch the trailer).

Note that all players on their forums are now bears and have “lol”, “lmao” “i lol’d IRL”, “lolwut” , “lulz” etc inserted into their posts randomly.

Good stuff.

EDIT: I would almost consider playing again if they actually had that Bard class.

“Chance on hit: Unleash a killer riff that blows your target’s mind.”

Classic.

Is it sad that I would really like to play a Bard, wielding the facemelter that “goes to eleven”?

snrk cough wheeze

(Smiling Bandit is laughing so hard he can’t actually laugh and is chokingly gasping for air)

Just FTR, for those who’re getting annoyed trying to read the official forums with all the extra spam, you can use Noscript to block all the lol, lolcat, lulz, etc. spam. Hopefully they’ll remove that script soon…

Wowhead got in on the April festivities. This gave me a good laugh.

(If you’re a newer WoW player, Thottbot was the main database in town for the first year or so.)

ETA: This is the best part of the Bard site: "If things heat up, the bard’s Punk tree can support the party with a wide range of abilities, such as “Nonconformity,” which dispels fear, mind control, and similar effects.

Another great April Fool: HighRoller : Discontinued and Outdated Mods : World of Warcraft AddOns (the April Fool text at the top was not added until more recently).

Let’s just say it involved Rick, and roll.

That one I found funny mostly because of an ongoing in-joke about the ‘Soulroll’ mod. That one works in Vegas though, so it’s better

(Actually, I’m not sure I’m kidding. That guy did pretty well on the slot machines when we were there)

This year I found a bit lame though. I much preferred the ‘Heroes of Azeroth’ and /panda jokes they pulled in years past. The Molten Core video game this year was mildly amusing though.
