I think you should make it clear in your next preliminary thread that you encourage multiple repeat nominations. I think a few people specifically avoided rementioning names that were already nominated, and that could skew results if you are culling single mentions…

Just to respond to your comment, I posted 20 of the 60 posts in that thread. If you would like to read Posts #20, #41, #44 and #59 and let me know how I could have made things clearer, maybe I’ll be able to use that in any future pre-poll data gathering efforts.

Also, if you have such suggestions, perhaps mentioning them while the thread is still active will have greater effect. As it is, it’s a bit like locking the barn door after the horse is out.

From your one post there, it looks as if you had an idea that mentioning names that had already been mentioned was okay. And it was.

If you must know, I’m more disappointed with the response to this poll than the ones to the original thread. The Women’s poll is pathetic.

It would have been nice to be able to vote for more than one. I would have picked Daniel Day-Lewis and Philip Seymour Hoffman. They’re both pretty much equivalent in terms of acting skills.

I have zero objection to you or anybody else selecting any group of actors from the original thread, this thread or any other criteria you want to use and posting a brand new thread on this topic. Let people vote for as many as you wish.

My experiment didn’t work. Plain and simple. Try something else. It’s okay with me whatever you wish to do.
