I’m not sure I feel that qualified to judge currently active commanders and really my knowledge of modern military history probably starts trickling down to the minimal by the late 1970’s.
But I betcha Giap would be a strong candidate to clean house :).
On the other hand, this sounds more promising. Incompetence is always worth “celebrating” :p.
As much as I would love to make Giap’s case again, I think a worst military leader thread would be pretty fun.

Agreed. Even McClellan and Charles the Bold deserve a little credit for building good armies ( on paper ). There are definitely worse candidates out there.
That’s sort of the problem with a “worst military commander” game, though. The only really deserving winner is going to be some idiot who was put in command because he was somebody’s nephew, and then got himself killed so swiftly that he didn’t even make history - he just died fighting in some absurd border skirmish or whatever.
Worst important/famous military leader, perhaps?
