Eratosthenes
How about evicting those on 3 votes as well?
I’m not sure Players are aware that I retain old votes and count them, unless superseded with a new order from that Player.
For example, Prof. Pepperwinkle had votes on Feynman and von Neumann in the previous round and I included those “old” votes in the intermediate count I gave in post #25. He has just posted new votes with those names deleted. If he did this because those are “goners” anyway, he’s mistaken — their vote counts just dropped to 3.
I have no firm rule for the Eviction threshold, and will try to tune it, as we go, according to pace and participation.
(I’ve received confirmation from the Professor.) Final vote counts for the round are
Fermat, Pierre de : 4
Leibnitz, Gottfried : 4
Mendel, Gregor : 4
Feynman, Richard : 3
Hubble, Edwin : 3
Neumann, John von : 3
Pauling, Linus : 3
Tesla, Nicolai : 3
Franklin, Benjamin : 2
Huygens, Christiaan : 2
Fermi, Enrico : 1
Leeuwenhoek, Antonie v. : 2-1
Eratosthenes : 1-1
Fermat, Leibnitz, and Mendel are gone.
Round Three is over. Round Four will end about 12:30 pm EST on Wednesday, January 17.
For Round Four, again you may cast six Evict (elimination) votes and one Keep vote, or five Evicts and two Keeps.

Getting tougher and tougher to cut – I’d have spared Tesla from eviction and retained Eratosthenes as a “save” had I had a 4/3 option.
With less than 12 hours to go, the vote counts are
Feynman, Richard : 4
Neumann, John von : 4
Tesla, Nicolai : 4
Pauling, Linus : 3
Franklin, Benjamin : 2
Hubble, Edwin : 2
Huygens, Christiaan : 2
Fermi, Enrico : 1

Mendeleev, Dmitri : 1
Leeuwenhoek, Antonie v. : 2-1
Eratosthenes : 1-1
Things are getting bloody! Last round two key inventors of the infinitesimal calculus were evicted along with the man who discovered how Darwinian evolution was possible. This round we’re en route to eliminating two of the very greatest geniuses born in the 20th century, along with a man who in popular surveys is often called “greatest scientist (or geek) ever.”
Oops! :o I failed to record Keep votes properly. Two lines in the vote summary need correction:
Mendeleev, Dmitri : 1-1
Eratosthenes : 1
(This doesn’t affect the vote leaders.)
Eliminate:
Feynman
Neumann
Turing
Hubble
Pauling
Leeuwenhoek
Keep:
Tesla
It is nearly time for **Tesla **to depart, but not yet. He still added more to science and in leaps and bounds ahead of some of the the others still on the list. He may not be one of the all time greatest, but he deserves the next circle.

Let’s increase the vote pace slightly: For Round Six, you may cast seven Evict (elimination) votes and one Keep vote, or six Evicts and two Keeps. I am open to suggestion on other ways to continue this game. (* - Gauss received only two votes, but they were both recent votes.)
