Green Buffalo Wings?

I’ve been nominated to bring the hot wings to our company St. Patrick’s Day buffet. Is there a recipe out there for a green sauce? Something besides guacamole please.

How 'bout salsa verde? It’s made from tomatillos, but you can also buy it in a jar. it would be better than the guacamole with wings, I think, but probably its appeal would be as much for the effect as for the taste.

Creative thinking, though. Maybe just go with green celery and die the blue cheese dip green w/ food coloring.

How about green Tabasco Sauce?

The green tabasco will work great, there are also other green jalapeno based sauces you can choose. Add that to some butter, and you’ve got your green buffalo wings. A standard recipe would be 1/4 to 1/2 cup melted butter to 1 cup hot sauce.

Great idea!

And phil’s banned in four posts! Is that a record?

I second the green hot sauce idea. Just be sure to remove the little plastic thing from the neck of the bottle to facilitate pouring.

Wild Ass Idea: I’ve had success in adding mint to a hot flavor. I’ve tried it with chicken breasts and they turned out lovely. Maybe you could make a small test batch of wings like that and bring 'em in to the office and see what they think.

King Friday Kudo’s to you for getting into the spirit of things. It could be just me, but I’m thinking GREEN chicken wings aren’t gonna look to appetizing.
How 'bout you serve’em up in a green bowl with green garnishments like celery and what not.

Again, I could be way off base I’m just thinking green chicken wings would look to much like frog legs… blah…

BURP!

Like Shakes, I think you might be better off with green accessories. Aren’t Buffalo Wings eaten with bleu cheese dressing? That would be pretty easy to green up, and it would be much more obvious than some weird greeny-chickeney concoction.

Have you considered chimichurri? It wouldn’t work with buffalo wings, but could work with another form of marinade.

I have to do it…
