Green Lantern poll

Rond Vidar. That scene where he faced the Time Trapper and revealed himself to be a Green Lantern ( I said NO) has never been equalled in any comic.

That’s a very interesting costume. If he turns around, do we get to see half of his ass? Something for the ladies!

His appearance in the Final Crisis tie-in, Legion of Three Worlds, was truly awesome.

Hal Jordan, but I’m only replying so that three nerdy, non-TV threads will be on top of the forum.

Hal Gordon

Tomar-Re.

Closely followed by Ch’p…
(which, as anyone who’s been followed by Ch’p will attest to, is kind of annoying)

In the comic I have, they make a point of her true identity being a mystery.

Pretty sure none of the dudes in the poll.

Teen Lantern was a fun one-off character.

Heh…

That sounds funnier than they actually intended, I’m sure. That’s some MPreg slash for a very niche market…

I was going to say Hal Jordan, as that’s just one of those trivia points I know. But the first Green Lantern I ever saw was a black guy in cartoon. I looked it up, and John Stewart was that black guy.

It honestly seems weird every time I see a white guy in that suit. I don’t care if he’s the original.

Same here, my first exposure to Green Lantern was John Stewart in the Justice League cartoon. I thought his characterisation was pretty well done and played off well against the Flash.

So if I think Green Lantern then he is the person that springs to mind.

edited to add I’m not a big comic-book or superhero movie person but I always thought the concept and powers behind the Green Lantern character were pretty cool and interesting. Who wouldn’t want a snazzy green ring that could create a working minigun at will…

It’s Hal. But see, this is what I find weird.

Somehow, I know about a lot of these heroes. I didn’t read comics as a kid, at least not superhero ones (coughElfquestcough) But I knew when I saw John Stewart in JLA that “wait, wasn’t there another Green Lantern? I’ve heard of the guy, but this isn’t the one I remember. He’s fantastic, but wasn’t there another one? Got his ring from a crashlanded alien?” Somehow, despite not reading comics or having friends or family who read comics, this information entered my brain. Just like Spider-Man’s origin story.

Anyway. Weird.

There are things you just absorb without knowing where you get them. I’m the opposite of you here. I grew up on the comic books and Hal Jordan. The cartoon series didn’t come on until I was an adult and I never watched it. But I was somehow aware that the Green Lantern in the cartoon series was a black guy.

Although one thing I hadn’t realized until I started this poll was that his name was John Stewart. Has the host of The Daily Show ever made a joke about the similarity of their names?

Not that I know of, but there was a scene in the Justice League cartoon where a piece of space junk was floating past their space HQ and the “camera” stayed on it as it slooooowly moved across the screen. Then cut to the John Stewart Green Lantern staring out the window, intoning “This has been your moment of zen…”
