Greetings from India!

Hi guys. I’m not sure exactly how this happened (well, IIRC, there were 30 hours of traveling involved), but I am in India. Hyderabad, to be precise. It is very hot and I am jetlagged and completely overwhelmed. The traffic here is amazing.

But I am visiting the office of the NGO where I will be interning (they don’t seem to expect me to do anything yet) and shoes are forbidden inside. Barefoot office! I approve.

If you see the Nizam, say hello for me ;).

I spend about half each year in Chennai (with frequent trips north to Delhi and Pune). Never been to Hydrabad though. I go back in about 2 weeks for lord knows how long. I’m trying to satiate all my desires for cheeseburgers and fries while I still can.

And after a nearly a year and a half spent there, I’m still not used to the driving. It’s like being stuck in a Grand Theft Auto video game.

Guess this answers who won’t be at the next dopefest, then.

Did you pack plenty of sunscreen?

How long will you be gone this time?

Are regular pedicures a requirement for barefoot offices, and if not, are there icky feet about?

What are postage costs like to mail stuff home?

I also thought about the Dopefest angle. Way to flee from Michigan!

Hope you have a good time and get contacts for what you want to do.

Interning in India? Good luck with your new Adventure!

(I hate hate hate the heat, so I don’t think that would be for me.)
