Continuing from the previous one-is there anyone, more perfect, more sexy, more incredibly WONDERFUL than Gregory Peck?
Cary Grant had everything that Gregory Peck did, plus a deft touch with comedy.
Ah yes, but Greg is still living. I don’t think the same can be said of Cary-or is he still with us?
Either way, LOVE Gregory Peck.
I’m afraid I haven’t seen much of Peck’s works, but the ones I have seen I love. My favorite movie of his, ironically, is The Omen. I like how he makes the character believeable.
OK, this seems like the place to ask this question. I have forgotten the name of a Peck film. It was possibly his first or second movie. He was a missionary priest in China and Vincent Price played the monsignor who was his superior. Can anyone help?
It seems to me that nowadays we are comparing actors as a way of categorizing them, such as “George Clooney is today’s answer to Cary Grant” or " Paul Walker is the new Paul Newman". In my opinion, actors such as Gregory Peck, Robert Mitchum and Henry Fonda were such masters of their craft, that when you went to one of their pictures, you knew what kind of performance they would deliver. Gregory Peck was always the strong, upstanding man who could be counted on to stick to his principles despite everyone else taking the easy way out.
That would be The Keys of the Kingdom.
Thank you Guinastasia!
Cary Grant is, indeed, dead.
I’ve always loved the original Cape Fear, with Peck and Mitchum. Mitchum does a fantastic job as the calculating murderous bully, and Peck does an equally good job as the liberal lawyer (perhaps the more difficult role?), wrestling with the fact that he might have to forego his principles to save his family.
