Grinning devil behind the queen's ear

Heh. As the perfect illustration of how this sort of crap is indicative of humans’ ability to find faces in anything, I see a completely different face above and to the left of the one outlined in that link. Although I would have described the face I can see as more “spaniel” than “devil”.

Ooooh, wait - there are two faces. Is there no end to the diabolical talents of those evil but clever french artists?

I guess I’m not the only person who reads the Snopes updates. I couldn’t find a picture blown up big enough to see anything, anywhere on the internet. There seems to be only one scan of that image available and it’s small.

Here’s a slightly larger image, and a cutout of the “devil’s face”, if it helps.

I’m curious as to how anybody knows what the Devil looks like. As far as I know he looks like Robert DeNiro.

I see it really easily, actually. Horns and all. I should look for more faces in stuff and start selling them on eBay.

But just his head.

I don’t think it was intentionally drawn, but I did see the devil face as soon as I looked at the image.

I’ve sent a message via the Royal Website, including the snopes link and asking for comments. I’m not holding my breath for a reply though. The last question I asked, requesting tips on how to overthrow the monarchy, met with a storm of indifference.

I’d read about it somewhere long before I got the Snopes email – just thought, “Oh, yeah, the devil in the hair”, and moved on.

B. Kliban cartoon: John the Baptist and a side of fries.

I see it quite easily and I believe it is intentional.

We’ll see what they have to say; I’m sure they’ve been asked this question before, even though it’s not about a recent event.

Well, I see it too, but I don’t see anything that could suggest that it is anything but an accident. And if this link (from the site I linked to earlier) shows the negatives from the original photo shoot, as it claims to, we see that the “devil’s face” is visible even there.

Holy cow! It’s much more visible that way to me. I see it very plainly in the negative.
