ground apples

what is the best way to bake a potato,in the house that is?

I just poke a few holes in the suckers with a fork, wrap them somewhat loosely in aluminum foil, and bake in a 400 F oven for about 45 minutes. A little butter and sour cream, and I’m set. Your Toppings May Vary.

Careful, Q.E.D.

Answering a GQ with facts might get you Pitted!

(A not so inside joke)

I wash my pototos and then just put them in the oven after a couple of fork pokes. No foil. same time and temp as qed said.

I like my skins toasty.

Placing an aluminum nail (Cooking Nail) though it will cook it faster.

Too late.

Thanks for the tips, and the link:)

I just poke 'em, and toss them in the oven (no foil) at whatever temp, until done. I’ve seen from 350 to 500 suggested, so use whatever you like. The microwave tip in the link is a good one, that’ll shorten the time quite a bit without screwing up the flavor. As soon as a fork or knife goes in easily, you’re ready to eat.

Just salt and pepper on mine, thanks!

I’ll move this to Cafe Society since it’s a cooking question.
