Groundhog Day - anyone been to Punxsutawney

If you visit Dubois, there is a microbrewery downtown. Can’t remember the name, but there’s only one. They’ve recreated Dubois Budweiser. Apparently, they got ahold of a copy of the original recipe. I tried a glass the last time I visited. It was authentically lousy. My grandfather was steward for an FOE lodge and did all the purchasing when I was a kid, so I tried Dubois Budweiser, Kohlers, (the original) Duquesne and other long extinct beers. Dubois Budweiser was the only one I didn’t like and the microbrewers have resurrected it in all its acrid nastiness. So, stop in, have a glass of history, then have a glass of something good. All their other beers are quite nice. Their food is good, too. I recommend the duck wings.

Since you’re in the general area and seem to like interesting-but-not-exciting attractions, find your way over to Altoona and check out the Horseshoe Curve. The history is fascinating, the view is great, and if nothing else you’ll get to ride a funicular railway (also known as an incline), something fairly rare (although there are still two in Pittsburgh).
