Hello!
We are a bunch of students (15) from Montreal, Canada going to an international competition (robot submarine) in San Diego at SPAWAR (Pt. Loma). We’re going there around july 27th to august 6th.
None of us have ever been at San Diego (make that the west coast!) so, if people from San Diego could give us some tips on going there, it would be very much appreciated!
For example:
-How can we find cheap accomodations around Pt. Loma? We’ve looked on the web and hotel are pretty costly. To save money, we’d like something with a full kitchen so we can prepare meals for the team. Any ideas? Beach house perhaps?
-“Must-see” attractions? We only have an extra day after the competition…
-Food for those times when we eat at the restaurant? Preferrably something that have at least some plates our team official vegetarian (but most are true carnivores) 
-Transportation? We need enough extra space for the luggage and the submarine itself (6’x3’x2’)
-etc…
