A few days ago on my walk to work I noticed a pigeon stood in the middle of the pedestrianized main shopping street.
It wasn’t walking around pecking the floor like pigeons do. It was just stood there. Guarding.
I got quite close to it. It didn’t budge. It wasn’t in distress or anything, just stood there, perfectly at ease.
So I carry on walking. I look back. Still there in the same spot.
I keep walking, occasionally looking around until it was out of visual range. It didn’t budge the whole time.
I began wondering if some cruel sod had actually glued it to the floor, but as I said it showed no signs of distress.
Is this normal pigeon behaviour? Calling all pigeon-psychologists.
