Guess The Movie From The Closing Line

If you can do it for openings, why not do it for closings? Basically, the format’s the same except now you have to identify a movie from its last line of dialogue.

Let me start with these three easy ones:

NDP 1 - “Mein Fuhrer! I can WALK!”

NDP 2 - “And like that–poof–he’s gone.”

NDP 3 - “Louie, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

Dr Strangelove
The Ususal Suspects
Casablanca

Hey ya lazy bum, if you guess you have to submit your own last lines!

I’ll toss in an easy one:

“In case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night.”

Correct on all three. Here’s some more:

NDP 4 - “Fuck.”

NDP 5 - “Yes sir. In my case an accident of birth. But you, you’re a self-made man.”

NDP 6 - “She wouldn’t hurt a fly.”

NDP 7 - “Shut up and deal.”

Add others as you see fit.

“I put it on Mr. Underhill’s credit card. Want the number?”

From my favorite movie (an oldie):

“It’s a gift then…”

Chevy Chase, in “Fletch”

Alec Guinness, in “Dr. Zhivago”

  1. Eyes Wide Shut

  2. Psycho

here’s one:

“And like that…he’s gone.”

And another:

“But don’t worry. You will someday.”

NDP 5 is The Professionals.

NDP 7 sounds like A Big Hand For the Little Lady.
“He’s my brother.”

Nope. NDP 7 is one of my favorites, The Apartment.

I can’t believe no one got Slacker’s so far: The Truman Show.

BE 1: “Where was I?”

It’s “The Usual Suspects” and it’s already been done It was NDP 2.

“American Beauty”

NDP 4-7 have been guessed correctly (and, for the record, NDP 7 is “The Apartment”).

Some new ones:

NDP 8 - “I’m a star. I’m a big bright shining star.”

NDP 9 - “Listen, you met me at a really weird time in my life …”

NDP 10 - “Certainly. But let’s see if we can get the DJ to play something with a lithe --–Rueben!”

MUD 1: “Forget it, Jake-- It’s Chinatown.”

What?

“So what. Big deal.”

Fight Club
And for my own contribution to this thread:

“I absolve you.”

NDP 9 is Fight Club
NDP 10 is Rushmore

Here’s an easy one:
“Hey everybody! We’re all gonna get laid!”

yosemitebabe: The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonsai Across the Eighth Dimension.

Atreyu: Amadeus.

jehovah: Caddyshack.

RA 1: “That son of a bitch stole my watch.”

I remember my friends and once trying to remember the worst last lines in movies we’d seen recently, and came up with :

PJ1 : “Ditto.”

PJ2 : “God Bless You.”

PJ3 : “… and you’ll still be a prick.”

<<BE 1: “Where was I?”>>

OTENMEM, I mean MEMENTO!

From a big block buster:

Gb - “He’ll be all right”
