Guess the words from internal letter sequences

I think someone else posted OKKE a while back, hence the confusion.

as to the OOKE sequence, zOOKEeper fits.

bibliophage was correct with veRMIForm

these are scratch’s :

kuMQuat
hiPPODrome
sYNECdoche
maELSTrom

Halfway done.

Eggs a la Ted got EOM = gEOMetry (thought I was thinking yEOMan).

panamajack got MQ, PPOD, ELSTR and YNEC (though I was thinking wrYNECk).

That leaves:
[ul][li]ZIQ[/li][li]ANIG[/li][li]IRDU[/li][li]PPOO[/li]YSH[/ul]

whippoorwill

Has anyone here noted that bookkeeper has three double letters in a row?

lightly smacks self upside the head

That’ll teach me to post past midnight.

bezique
shenanigans, planigraph
airduct
monkeyshines, secretaryship, treasuryship…

Welcome aboard, Kyberneticist. You’re just in time for the beginning of round 3.

  1. AURAT
  2. BRAP
  3. GARIT (2 unrelated words)
  4. GLENO
  5. HOMAN

margaritas and logarithms! Two of my favourite activities!
And the while I’m getting drunk and babbling about number theory, I often do it in a restaurant, owned by a…
Gonna have to think about the other ones.

Is it legal to use greek? Because then it is easy.
Take a “mania”
tack on something on the beginning.
Like ornitho, nympho, litho…

grr. the other two are harder though.
vibration.
no.
vibrant.
misspelled and wrong.
brain
brapt (sound of a badly blown trumpet?)
gonna check on endings for vibra - I’m sure someone has created a vibrating gadget that begins in p.

logarithm, restaurateur, and nymphomania are correct. I’ll give you a point for margarita too, but that’s not the one I was looking for. Four points to Kyberneticist. You do know you’re allowed to use a dictionary? It’s just that you can’t use an electronic search, like those available with some electronic dictionaries. Search engines are also forbidden.

Since we’re on page 4 now, I’ll relist those remaining

  1. BRAP
  2. GARIT (one more besides logarithm and margarita)
  3. GLENO

courtesy of Kyber - vibraphone

thinking of bra as vibra rang the bell. Couple of other things were on my mind…

point to lurkernomore. I guess that will teach Kyberneticist to think out loud.

A lot of pajamajack’s sequences are still outstanding from page 3.

TISIM
SQUAMP
LIPY
SIEQ
OKEF-it’s not jokefest, is it?

A few of my rejects from page 3 are still outstanding.

HJ-sometimes hyphenated. I wasn’t thinking of highjack
VEBO-sometimes hyphenated
ILQ-not hyphenated, but sometimes capitalized

SIEQ-quasi-equilibrium?

Well if not highjack
how about highjump?

I can see loveboat in the rejects, but nothing else comes to mind.

not high jump, which is two words.
not love boat, which is also two words

Well, the only word I can think of then is mahjong which I’ve been playing for a few hours here at work. But according to the rules of the game, doesn’t it have to be an english word? Also, Mah Jong is really two words.

mahjong or mahjongg is the one I was looking for. It is an English word, though the etymology is Chinese.
