Guess the words from internal letter sequences

bibliophage,
GLENO = inGLENOok.

Of my remaining five (from last page) lurkernomore got one and Kyberneticist got all the rest except for:

IRDU

“airduct” is not one word according to Webster’s.

[sub]Hint: think measurement.[/sub]

Point to scratch for inglenook.

  1. GARIT (one more besides logarithm and margarita)
  2. HOMOR
  3. HWH (2 unrelated words)
  4. IAI (2 unrelated words)
  5. OPOM
  6. ORRHO

ORRHO = hemORRHOids, of course.

Oh, and for HWH, one answer is busHWHack.

  1. sophomoric

Funny, I kept looking at 9 and getting this, not realizing that it fit the pattern above for a while. Now 9 just keeps reminding me of tropo-, but I know that that can’t be right either 'cause nothing fits after it…

IAI - liaison

2 points to scratch1300 for hemorrhoids and bushwhack. Point to Mind gamer for sophomoric. Point to lurkernomore for liaison.

  1. GARIT (one more besides logarithm and margarita)
  2. HWH (one more besides bushwhack)
  3. IAI (one more besides liaison)
  4. OPOM
  5. OTOTI
  6. OTOTY
  7. PJ
  8. POPA
  9. RSEDI

standings for round 3 so far:
Kyberneticist: 4
scratch1300: 3
lurkernomore: 2
Mind gamer: 1

Both of these answered by bibliophage -

I wasn’t thinking of jokefest for OKEF.

QuaSIEQuilbrium is correct ( I know it’s hyphenated in some dictionaries, but I’ve never seen anyone who uses it hyphenate it.)

I’m going on vacation, so I won’t be able to give answers for the rest for a while. I trust that those who really want to know will figure them out, and to help I’ll give some hints.

TISIM – while it’s not an everyday word, it’s meaning is very clear.

LIPY – this is a useful high-falutin’ greek word for something that has simpler, more common words to describe it.

SQUAMP – a fairly technical term, but some word lovers are likely familiar with the field.

  1. prototype

Point to Mind gamer for prototype.

PJ- skipjack

ototi - rototiller

2 points to lurkernomore for rototill and skipjack. I may have failed to check PJ for uniqueness. There are more such words than I thought, including slapjack, flapjack, and cheapjack.

OKFE-book-fell (a vellum manuscript), brook-fed (what some ponds are), book-fed (what I am).

  1. GARIT (one more besides logarithm and margarita)
  2. HWH (one more besides bushwhack)
  3. IAI (one more besides liaison)
  4. OPOM
  5. POPA
  6. RSEDI
  7. SIPY
  8. TROFI
  9. UAU
  10. UDAC
  11. ULIF
  1. cauliflower

So what’s up? Are people getting tired of this already?

It’s getting too hard. I haven’t even heard of half these words.

  1. UAU

Luau

For the remaining nine see Round 3 answers I hope that link works. I get a script error, but I can still view it.

…here’s the answer:

IRDU = avoIRDUpois.
