Guess what 60 Minutes decided to do last night? (Answer: Benghazi)

Where is it enshrined that the government shall limit the speech rights of the wealthy in order to make it “fairer”? Do you know what freedom of the press means? It means that those with access to a printing press get to use it.

And again, the 1st amendment is crystal clear and the history of 1st amendment jurisprudence is also clear. You can’t limit individual political speech. Corporate speech, yes, under some circumstances, but if the Koch Bros and Soros And Sheldon Adelson want to spend their own money to advocate, they have an absolute right to do so.

Getting back on subject…
Was there anything new and substantive that actually proved to be true in the 60 Minutes Benghazi report?

Nothing new, although it’s still true that the administration knew the attack was organized very early but stuck to the video story.

I didn’t know that the beautiful Lara Logan existed before this. That was new to me, and she’s still beautiful.

Should we start the 4-hour countdown, Revtim?

This is inaccurate and has been debunked often enough now that it’s approaching “pants-on-fire” territory. The administration did no such thing. They mentioned the video as a possible catalyst, but stressed that it was early and we didn’t know everything yet. How many times do we have to go over the damn CIA memo? Is there any number that will get you to stop telling lies and half-truths? I ask out of curiosity even though I suspect I know the answer.

No, this is not known. You don’t know what the administration “knew”- all we know is what they did. Even if certain intelligence personnel thought they knew the right answer, that doesn’t mean the whole administration did.

Yes, but as head of the Executive Branch Obama should have a psychic link to every single employee in that branch which tells him everything they know as soon as they know it. The fact that he hasn’t gotten the implants sorted out yet is just another example of what an incompetent administrator he is.

Just as an update, Lara Logan and her producer will take a leave of absence from CBS.

Not sure how long, or if it’s paid, but it’s something.

Obviously. Didn’t you get the memo? :dubious:

Letting The People vote and possibly decide their own fate is Commie or something. Karl Rove and the Koch Brothers know what is best for us. :dubious:

Well … bye.

I love adaher’s ability to show a self-deprecating sense of humor while acknowledging his error.

He and Magiver. It must be nice to have the Godlike power to create one’s own universe, because these jokers sure don’t live in the regular one.

In light of the new news about the leave of absence, I’d just like to say, how does that crow taste?

That might just be as far as it gets. Bit of a spanking for Ms Logan. And if you’re thinking what I think you’re thinking, shame on you!

To be fair to MODALIZE, I think he could very well have been right about what CBS wanted to do at the time, and that they just changed their minds under pressure.

I guess I should feel free to make any prediction at all, then (“She’s not going anywhere”) and if they don’t turn out correct, then I can claim that things changed between the time I made the prediction and the time I was proven wrong?

Okay, then. Bernie Sanders is going to be the next president of the United States. You heard it here first.

And last, most likely.

What I’m thinking is that the reason she’s getting a better deal than Dan Rather did is precisely because she inspires such thoughts.

A willingness to report stories critical of the current administration with full knowledge they’re false?
A think Fox News has a new rising star!
