Guess what Robin Williams? You're not funny

The guy is not even remotely funny. I reckon some TV presenters would refuse to interview him because they know they will have to be putting on fake laughter for the entire interview. The guy just doesn’t shut up. He thinks that if he keeps the same joke going over and over and over it will eventually make it funny. Well I don’t laugh. You are not funny. You are not remotely funny. Now go away and take your uniquely pathetic style of humour away from me.

Thank you, dear. He was not funny in the 1970s and he is not funny now. May I also ask just who died and gave Jim Carrey a career? Just when we thought we were rid of Jerry Lewis, they clone him and we have to put up with Jim Carrey for the next 30 years.

Don’t even get me STARTED on Billy Crystal . . .

Oh yeah?? Well maybe you’re just not smart enough to understand his humour!!!

I aspire to being smart enough some day to understand Adam Sandler’s humor.

I see all those thousands and thousands of people paying top dollar to be entertained by Sandler’s sly witticisms, and I just curl up in self-pity.

Still trying to cope with Norm McDonald’s wit…

…Duh! He is the unfunniest person around. It isn’t that we are not smart enough to enjoy his hints at humour, he is just too boring and disjointed to be remotely funny. He is a decent actor when he sticks to the script but once he tries to improvise I would rather go out in the back and put mosquito attractant in my eyes so the mosquitos would find them as quickly as possible and suck out any last thought of vision. Then I would want a nice icepick wielding psychopath to come by and destroy me hearing so I don’t have to put up with listening to the lamest comic around. And last, I would want a special surgical doctor to come around and disconnect my spinal chord and every other nerve that deals with feeling from my body so I won’t be able to even read about him through braille and thus completely limit my contact to the suckiest suck who ever did suck.

HUGS!

Hey, Ike, I can fix it so you understand Sandler’s humor. Just sit right there and keep that ear pointed to me while I get my power drill…

What a bunch of killjoys! Hey people, I’m gonna sing a song for you:

Every party needs a pooper, that’s why we invited you: Party pooper!

I think all the people mentioned in this thread are funny people. Well, maybe not Jim Carrey, but everyone else.

I like Adam Sandler, and have ever since he was Stick Pin Quinn on the game show Remote Control. I also like Norm MacDonald, I always have, from when he did stand up. (“Okay, God, I did what you said! I killed all my family and I’ve got them right here in a duffel bag!” “Surprise, it’s me, Bob! I was just pretending to be God!”)

Jim Carrey has his funny moments, and his not-so-funny moments. I laughed a lot at Ace Ventura.

Robin Williams? Well, Mr. Grey is always quoting this line he did way back, making fun of Shakespeare:

“Behold! The moon, like a testicle, hangs low in the sky.”

It’s nice that we can all have our own opinion on things… mine differs from yours.

“Do you think God does drugs? Just look at the platypus… okay… (inhale)… we’ll give it the body of a beaver and a duck’s beak… it’s a mammal… but it lays eggs… fuck you Darwin”. ~ R. Williams.

I thought this was damn funny.

I think Robin Williams is seriously lacking in the comedy department, but I have to say the despite Cuba Gooding Jr.'s lame attempt at dramatic acting, I LOVED “What Dreams May Come”. Even my non-crying husband teared up at it. Very well acted (in my opinion) by Williams.

On the other hand, Bicentennial Man made me want to poke out my eyes with a shrimp fork. Your milage may vary.

Zette

I’m all for lynching Jim Carrey. The only thing he’s done so far that hasn’t been revolting was The Truman Show.

Jerry Lewis… well, at least we know the French have no taste now. Despite their best PR efforts, we can point to him and say “But you think this waste of womb space is funny!”

Ditto everyone else. Robin Williams has his moments, but they’re mostly when he’s quiet.

I always feel sorry for those guys when they have to appear on talk shows to promote their latest projects.

I can just picture them backstage acting like normal people then having to do a sort of comic “Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde” thing. I always wonder if they secretly wish that their interviewer would say, “Cut the shit, let’s have a real conversation!” Yet everyone seems to EXPECT them to perform like trained monkeys.

I wonder if they get so sick of “being funny” that they experiment with just how far they can go and still make people laugh.

Jim Cary sux.
But I just dont watch his movies any more. That solves the problem for me

Robin Williams is one of my fav actors. But if you dont like him, see solution for Jim Carey.

Robin Williams is another one that I put in the mental category “used to be funny when he was on cocaine.”

Jim Carrey’s not exactly funny, but he’s at least entertaining in that old-fashioned, pull-out-all-the-stops show biz way.

Jerry Lewis’s “humor” always made me cringe. It was as if he was perpetually saying, “See what a loathesome, horribly little worm I am! Laugh at me! Laugh at me!” His talk-show/telethon persona (smug asshole) is much more interesting.

PS: I dont think Robin Williams is a regular jack when he is not near a camera. Not unless he is on the right meds.
He is manic-depressive.

Eve (and any other Williams-haters), may I ask just for point of reference which comedians you DO find funny?

At this point in my life, I get a real charge out of Samuel Beckett.

“We give birth astride a grave…” HAW! Has he got it nailed or what!?! {chuckle}

Zette, you evil spawn of satan! Cuba Gooding, Jr. rocked in that movie!

But:

I wholeheartedly gotta agree with ya on this one. Uggh!
BTW, I’m with Brunetter, who do you guys find funny?
