Guest MMP: I got a rock

Draelin just keep tellin’ ol’ fat back she’ll be fine.

I got out of pricin’ yard sale stuff cause they were all done when I got there. Yay! Course I still have to be there at six thirty tomorrow morning. I’m hungry, so I’m gonna go eat.

We got inundated by electricians again today so it was kind of hard to think and post at the same time. Especially as they kept strolling by my desk and looking all gorgeous with their long ponytails and fit bodies and gorgeous smiles. Plus of course there were a bunch of not-so-sexy-looking management types ordering them around and there was so much noise it was hard to concentrate. I swear, for a supposedly secure-room that place sometimes feels like we just accidentally left the front door open and half of Westminster has decided to stop by. There are CROWDS of people wandering around there some days. Dagnabbit!

Anyways, that’s why i couldn’t be bothered to post the potato story in full. It’s a good excuse i think. I did post it on another forum for a game i was playing (kinda cute game actually). So iffen you are absolutely desperate to find out then head on over to cleverwasteoftime.com and find their forum and have a look. Otherwise i might cut and paste it over here sometime cos i surely can’t be bothered right now. It’s been a loooooooooooong week.

::yawns::

This is something I don’t believe is covered in your particular edition of the Owner’s Manual DonkeyBear. See, even with the trampy types, it often takes a lot of twisting before you’ll get their caps off.

Poor Draelin. Really it could be worse, with actual problems. Have Bridey Poo use clothes glue or tape to keep her veil in place. Heck pin the derned thing. The cake is going to be good at least, right?

Someone outside my classroom is playing an accordian. Sounds like something from Lady and the Tramp, which is odd because absolutely no one is Disney Italian around here.

Why did I write cream cheese on my shopping list? Yay 3pm on friday!

We’re going to Serenity with Attacks Husband and maybe Driving Husband and Lazy Husband. We almost went to The History Of Violence but I thought it would be harder to get the guys to go to a serious movie. We’ll maybe see History next week.

Whee!
Back fat? Oh, heavens. Other Quasi-Daughter just emailed to ask about the dress and to say that they may be changing the wedding location from Ottawa to Coburg. I’m glad I know. I was about two days from booking hotel rooms in Ottawa.

My own Wedding Hell approacheth. I feel for you, Draelin.

Speaking of weddings, this couple who are good friends of mine have a daughter getting married next weekend in the brand new Hilton Hotel in Albeeeny. The wedding, reception and dinner/dance are all being held there. I’ve booked a room for ACBG and me so we can partake of open bar freely. He dang well better be able to attend. He says he’s goin’ no matter what. He’s working still. GRRRR… grumpy, grouchy swampy is still here. Guess we won’t be seeing each other tonight either, what with me having to get up early in the morning and him having to work tomorrow. Le Sigh. Maybe tomorrow night. I’m really gettin’ tired of all this. I need me some ACBG lovin’!

Back from Lowe’s - we bought lumber to build a wood rack and a work table for the radial arm saw. Them’s tomorrow’s projects. And probably into Sunday. With a short break to run to the farmer’s market for fresh veggies and stuff. Yes, you may envy me.

But for the rest of the evening, I’m being a bum. Go me!

Were there any good looking electricians without long hair?

Ah! Home at last! Good grief, traffic was horrendous. Seems people have forgotten what that wet stuff falling from the sky is and they’re either driving like idiots or driving like they’re scared to go more than ten miles per hour.

The hubby is out in the great room rocking out to some concert DVD and we’re expecting company.

I don’t know that I’ll be able to post next week during the day, as I have been tapped for two weeks of jury duty. Meh…I usually kind of enjoy it, but this time is proving to be a really inconvenient time for me. I have so much to do at work, and nobody but does what I do. Once I get back I’ll have a great big report to prepare. This report usually takes me about a week or week and a half to put together because of all the different data sources I need to use. This time I’ll have three days. Oh well, nothing can be done about it.

Well, our company has arrived. I better go greet him.

Oh and Swampy, I know it’s not the same thing (by far), but I’m sending you a comforting hug since you don’t get to snuggle with your sweetie.

Here you go, swampy. I googled this just for you. And because it amuses me.

Or is it too late for this week’s MMP and I should wait for next week when FCM starts the new one?

I sprayed Pepsi everywhere when I read this!

It’s never too late! (Well, by Monday, it might be…) There aren’t as many people around on the weekend, but the MMP usually lasts until the next one starts. On rare occasions, there’s a confusing overlap on Monday morning… Welcome!

I woke up, couldn’t fall asleep again - stoooopit insomnia - and started thinking about complicated work stuff. Decided to distract myself in the hopes of being able to go back to sleep again.

Went and saw Serenity last night. That was fun! I need to go again because a lot of it kind of rushes at you and I know I missed lots of details. People actually applauded at the end. Can’t remember the last movie where that happened.

Think I’ll go and try that sleep thing again…

Mounties wear kilts now!?

I had a dream about Rue last night! Well, about may not be the right word, but he was in the dream and he hugged me in the dream, and when you come right down to it, being hugged by Rue is what it’s all about!

It wasn’t the most coherent of dreams, with a clear beginning, middle, and end, partly because the cat came in whining for kibble, but here’s what I do remember.

I had to go to Cincinnati for something work-related (I don’t think this would happen in reality, but it’s a dream, right?) and naturally, I’d made plans to meet our MMP King. I drove up to this charming little house on a tree-filled lot, and was met at the door by Mama Rue and invited in to wait for her son to return. For some reason, my nephew was there  and then Mrs. Rue came in, sorta crawling across the hardwood floor like you would if you were playing with a baby. She had chin-length black hair, which I know is wrong because in reality, her hair is long and a beautiful shade of red.

While I was waiting, I was concerned about installing a piece of base molding at my grandmother’s house. Now, my grandmother died 10 years ago and she was never in Cincinnati… Then Rue showed up, wearing shorts and displaying his man-gams - what a treat that was!! And he came over and hugged me, and that’s when I noticed he was shorted than I am. Now, I’m about 5’5", and I’m willing to bet that he’s taller than that, except in my dream. At that point, we were standing outside and I was holding this piece of base molding, and we walked across the street to install it in my grandmother’s house. For the record, there was, in reality, an electrical substation across the street from my grandmother’s house… And as we crossed the street, the stupid cat woke me up, and there went the dream.

I thought about saving that little tidbit for my MMP, but I decided it was way too lame. Plus I’d forget it by Monday.

In summary, Rue has great man-gams and he’s a great hugger. And for some reason, he let my nephew into his house. Or maybe his mother did. She needs to be more discrimination - my nephew is pretty bratty. And we never did get that base molding installed.

I slept till 9:00 or so!!! Yay!!! It’s possible I actually got a full 8 hours of sleep. Or at least much closer than usual.

I liked your dream story, FCM. My interpretation of it is that you miss Rue. (Deep, huh?) Isn’t it funny how things get mixed up in dreams? Oh, and the door part reminded me of what bothers me about my front door. It’s a solid door and the only windows near it are awkward to get to, so you pretty much have to open the door to find out who’s there. This is the biggest reason I want to replace it. But, darn, that’s expensive!

I’m figuring out what to do with my day. Need to mow. Need to cut some plant starts. Want to go see Serenity again because I’m still thinking about it (I’ve read through the threads in CS, which only made it worse) and it’s inconveniently not yet available on DVD.

Promised I’d go see Just Like Heaven with a friend later today, so it’ll be a 2-movie day. We were talking about going at 3:30 or so, but I think it’ll be the later showing.

So I’d better get moving, right?

No there were only lovely looking ones with long, dark, well-groomed hair and cute, friendly smiles and fit, slightly-toned-but-not-with-those-obvious-muscles-that-look-horrible-and-vain bodies and gorgeous South African accents. One in his mid thirties and one in his mid/late twenties. I’m not sure which one i want more.

The only people with short hair around were the old, fat geezers who were ordering them around. (I felt sorry for the Eldest Sexy Electrician actually cos he must have asked about 8 times “Tell me what you want and how many and I’ll get them” and got ignored every time by the old,fat geezers with BIG PLANS for the place.

No, i didn’t tap ESE on the shoulder to tell him what i wanted or how many times.

I’ll soon be off to get my hair colored and get a haircut. I most definitely need it. I haven’t had my hair done since April!

Tonight’s dinner will consist of pork roast, mashed taters, gravy and some sort of veggie. I think I’ll put chanterelle mushrooms in the gravy.

It’s rainy and dreary here. It would be nice to just curl up with a good book and not go anywhere, but I NEED to get this haircut.

Nothing too exciting going on otherwise.

Nice and sunny here. Sleepy but I’m up and running around. I should probably work out before going to work. I think maybe I want to start an absurdedly complicated necklace, too. I should have brekafast. Lunch. Whatever.

Serenity was awesome. All of us enjoyed it. I think Attacks Things Husband was the only one who’s actually watched the show. He enjoyed it the most. I need to get the series on dvd and see the movie again. This time I’ll know to close my eyes for the ::mmmph mmpg mmgh:: fine, no spoilers!

All of you should go and see this movie, if you like science fiction.

Weather is pretty nice here today - chilly at 7.30 though.

I have been quiet for a couple or three days as I got in a car wreck on Thursday AM on the way to work and I am very very sore. Some dumb (*&%^%$ made an illegal left hand turn and SLAMMED into me. In my new car. That has 748 miles on it. That still has the temp plates and that I haven’t even paid the sales tax on yet.
ANd may have to be totaled
:frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Hmmm there is a pit rant there but I hurt to much right now methinks I will go take some more of those pretty pink pills the hospital gave me…

The wood rack is built and installed. We’ve gotten fresh veggies at the flea market. We’re about to start the table for the radial arm saw.

I’ll be back later.

First of all, Mounties don’t wear kilts. I’m a dumb 'Merikan I know that. I was using the past tense of kill. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

ems I’m sorry to hear about your bumps and damaged car. May you feel better soon and find a good replacement for your car.

I’m posting on a Saturday because I finally got the friggin’ cable internet connection working. Well, I didn’t, some guy named Joe at the cable company did. But I called him, so that counts for something. Now maybe the youngest step-daughter-to-be will get off my back about not being able to update her blog.
