OK, here’s what I know. It’s Friday and I’m just now getting to check up on you people. (Four pages? Not too shabby.)
I got the job at the animal hospital. That’s a good thing. But, as it turns out, I know nothing. So that’s bad. Actually I know all sorts of things, it’s just there’s all sorts of things (mostly procedural) I don’t know and the learning is kicking my butt. The 10 hour days (three of them, then a half-day Thursday, but I was too tired to check in) aren’t helping either. But mostly it’s the learning stuff all the time that’s less fun than you’d figure.
And Monday… Monday…
Monday’s are always crazy. I knew that from nine years ago when I was working at the other clinic. See, this dog could be sick all weekend and these people will figure it’ll just get better on its own, but come Monday when the dog is still sick, because they’ve been ignoring it all weekend waiting for the Health Fairy to pop it on the head with her Magic Fairy Health Wand, then it’s an Emergency. Plus Monday was Columbus Day, which is a big fat Fake Holiday but enough people had it off to really be a nuisance to me.
So Monday was CAR-AY-ZEE.
Tuesday was some better. And I knew more stuff. Not a lot more stuff, but some. So that was good.
Wednesday was, comparatively, sedate.
Thursday, my half-day, my fourth day working there I was STUCK ON THE PHONES! The horror! But there was no one else to take care of them because the one girl who could have done it had a personal crisis and had to leave. My head didn’t explode, so I guess that’s one for the “Win” column.
So that’s what’s up with me. Work. (Man, I hate work. But this job should work out nicely. We’ll see.)
Good job on the OP Drae.
Happy whatever’s going on to anyone that has things going on. Unless it’s something bad, then you have my sympathy.
Now I should go back and finish reading the three pages I have to go before there’s more. Then I have two stinky dogs living with me that need baths and I have to swing by the library and there’s other stuff to get done. It’s always some danged thing.
