Let's keep a happy thought in the MMP!

We’ve had far too much misery and bad news in the MMP. I propose we make an effort to post at least one good thing each day in this MMP. As an experiment. Yanno, for science and all.

My happy thought - I’m having leftover krab quiche for breakfast. I lurves me this fake crab quiche recipe, and with my sweetie out of town, it’s all mine! So I have breakfast all week already made! Yum!

Happy Moanday!

First! Woot!

My happy thought today is that I have a short week - got Friday off because I’ve banked way too many hours and I deserve it.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 72 and sunny. So, happy thought of the day is I get to open up da cave windows later this mornin’! YAY! No AC or heat runnin’ makes for a happier power bill. I shall work on defilthyfication of da cave today, be a bear who N.OL.es, do some errands, and make sketties ‘n meatballs with sallit and garlic bread for dindin. Should be enough to keep me out of trouble. I’m goin’ to look at dishwashers at Lowe’s and Home Depot just cause. My current one is over twenty years old so I’m considerin’ replacement. Or not.

{{{rosie}}} from yestiddy, you mentioned a low grade fever. Hope it’s all better today.

OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I shall dust and vacuum da cave, purtify, and go meet the public.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

My happy thought is that half my results for my first semester’s final Graphic Design projects have come in, and are largely at the highest marks. Very satisfying.

**BooFae **- yay for short weeks! This is a regular work week for me, but next week has just 3 days, since this company gives Thanksgiving and the day after as holidays. Yay!!

**Batboy **- congrats!!! Any way you can share pics of your projects - the nosy ones among us would love to see your efforts!

I have a few posted on Twitter. Watercolour. Illustrator. Indesign. Print.

My good thing for today: I’m taking a vacation day! I’m trying to use up the rest of my vacation days…so I’ve taken every Monday in November off.

Already brewed the perfect pot of coffee, and I’m enjoying my first cup in the coziness of my bed. Of course, the dogs have crowded me into only about one square inch of space, but still…I don’t have to get up or go anywhere today!

Yes, this is going to be a great day!

The sprog is at school, the chickie-doodle soup is happily going in the crockpot, and Reed is yowling to go in the attic. I’m not going to let him, but only because I don’t feel like heating the attic.

After this year, I’m ready for some happy thoughts. I bought all the stuff needed for a nice Thanksgiving dinner. I’m sick of family drama and bullshit and all that. I want a quiet Thanksgiving with dinner, football, and no drama. Nothing against Airman’s family, but I’ve had my fill of them for a while.

Happy Moonday!

It’s a cloudy 29 degrees outside BRRRR!
It’s going to go up to 60, so that is not so bad.

I guess I am one of the few around here not upset with the election results. I knew he was going to win, so no shock for me. I don’t like either one of them, so makes not much difference to me who won.

FCM That is probably the case with Percy. I think he may never be happy, but I hope he finds the right place. I watch the shelter web site and so far he hasn’t been listed as adopted, but he is not listed on the available page either. They are a no kill shelter, so who knows?

I am so happy with Cat-With-No-Name. We have our moments, but he’s a good kitty.
He’s messier than Percy though. He flings food and kitty litter everywhere. Percy ate every single crumb of food, Cat leaves food crumbs and treat crumbs all over the place. Probably trying to attract mice so he has something to play with.

I’m debating buying him a new cat tree. The one I have isn’t high enough for him to really stretch up and scratch. I know he’d like to be able to look out the window, so a taller cat tree in front of the window would be nice for him. The other option is to buy a side table to put under the window so he can jump up to look out. He’s not much of a jumper though, and is pretty klutzy when he does. He has no interest in the bed on the cat tree, he’s a big cat who likes to stretch out. Probably why he never plays in boxes either. So he may never use the cat tree, he would probably use a table if the top was big enough for him to stretch out.

My heart isn’t in it this year, but I need to start Christmas shopping. I was going to buy an organ for the boys and send it to my mother’s house, but now I am thinking maybe a foozball table or something like that. I don’t know what the girls will want, I haven’t talked to my older niece in months.

So for good news? Sah-son has A’s in all of his classes - so far. This week’s paycheck is better than the last few. Still not back to normal, but better. My computer is almost better. I haven’t seen or heard a mouse in weeks. The squirrels haven’t come back.
I’ve got a little money in the bank, food in the kitchen, the roof doesn’t leak, and the furnace works - life is good.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight.

Happy thoughts? I’ll have cold beer in the fridge, and a warm dog in goal when I come home tonight.

First off – since I’m well down the page as usual — from last week:

That is why I am far less fussy than you in terms of beverages; I never get disappointed that way.

Now on to the OP ---- I am going to visit my humble barber, who just happens to call himself the Hunble Barber, to get my face changed from Yoeder-mode to Santa-mode today so I can be ready for major side-money starting next week. He does great work and he’s a silly sort so it always brightens my day to go there. And I’m actually looking forward to work; we have an odd warm spell so TDR duty should be no great hassle today.

Blurf I dropped my car at the dealership for service this morning. I think it will be ready around lunch time. Irking and it is irksome as usual for a Moanday.

Good happy thoughts: I took the entire week off next week. Whatever will I do with myself?

Well, there was Smithwick, and 12 kinds of Irish Whiskey, so it was not like anybody was hurting.

Busy busy this morning. The server has been unkind and I’m trying to figure out a rather weird assembly drawing, which is always fun. When I looked up, it was after 11! Oh noes!! That’s my lunch time!!

So now I’m lunching. I need this break to unfry my brain.

Greetings.

I was in a good mood until I got two phone calls, both trying to sell me stuff. But what the heck, got four good football games on Sunday, caught up on my reading, and ate raisin bread to break-fast this morning, so I am still happy.

Sari, congrats to the son…for someone who procrastinates as you tell us he does, he apparently can do very well under pressure. As for Xmas, I usually get my brother, sis-in-law, and niece/nephews (about the only shopping I do) gift cards for Barnes and Noble, but found a set of cute T-shirts on-line and ordered them.

Batboy, congrats on the grades. I’m beginning to think that this is a pretty smart crowd (then I remember spidey and flytrap

Deanna D, not sure if you’re new here or not (I don’t remember seeing you, but I am notoriously absent-minded). If so, enjoy the company, learn everyone’s MMP names (I’m not sure after 9 months that I have them all). If you haven’t got one, how does **DeeDee **sound to all?

No, I’ve actually been here for a few years…and LOVE the SDMB…but I don’t really post much, so I’m not surprised that I’m not familiar.

I’m honored, though, to have a nickname!

Oh, and my day off has been great so far! I eventually willed myself to jump in the shower, and I’m hoping to eventually motivate to tackle some cleaning around the house.
So far, no one from work has called to ask me for help with anything, which is always a good thing. All I’ve gotten is a couple of emails, which can just wait until tomorrow.

**DeeDee **- I’m thinking **MetalMouse **was referring to “here” as the MMP in particular as opposed to the Dope in general. Not that it matters - since you’ve posted here, you’re officially a Mumper and you life shall never be the same ever again!

For the record, a shower is pretty much always a good thing, but cleaning house, not so much. It’s just going to get dirty again, so why bother?? That’s my philosophy. Yeah, domestical chores don’t do a lot for me, but there are some warped individuals here who seem to take cleanliness far too seriously, so you’ll find kindred spirits.

Anyway, welcome to our playground!

A happy thought: My niece, my nephew, his wife and 4 year old daughter will be here for T-Day. I haven’t seen any of them in 2 years. I will spend T-Day with them, drive home (it’s about an hour) feed the cat, see my pony on Friday morning, then go back and visit.

I finished a 5K WALK on Saturday. I was the last female, but finished in front of 3 men. go me!
