Let's keep a happy thought in the MMP!

So you’re saying you had 3 men following you on Saturday???

I crack me up!

swampy, if you have a truck and labor to haul it and don’t need a warranty, check out Bargain Hunt (if you have them down there) http://www.bargainhunt.com/about-us I checked them out when I shopped for a washer and dryer, but they didn’t have a matched set. Appliances tended to be up to half off retail.

Nice work, bat boy!

May you cool off soon, rosie.

My happy news today is that my niece has been accepted at TSU and has klepped out of the better part of three semesters. Not bad for a girl who married at 18, was a mom by 19 and cut hair (or taught cosmetology) for several years. Her intended major is psychology (she’s had lot’s of observation with her family :stuck_out_tongue: ).

My slow week last week has turned into being covered up this week. Oh, well. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yesterday, in last week’s MMP, I mentioned a sermon I’d heard that morning. It reminded me of some things I should have realized before, and it really hit home with me. After this past week I don’t feel so bummed anymore.

Several of you all mentioned interest in reading it and the link is now up.

It’s too bad you couldn’t have heard it as well. Rev. Pejakovich isa superb speaker and the sound of the words on the page was in no small part some of the appeal.

Cool stuff BatBoy
I wish I had talent.

I should be doing other stuff instead of this stuff.

Sah-son does manage well MetalMouse, but it makes me crazy because the whole time he is frantic and asking me…
how do you spell…?
do I need a comma after…?
I need a word to describe…?
how do inline cites work again?
Or even worse…
I can’t get into my math homework/watch this video because Java isn’t working, I need help!
I thought the testing center closed at 5 on Saturday, not 3!!!

It doesn’t bother him, makes me crazy.

My newest baby pitbull (four months old) was the star at her first puppy class! She even got promoted from Kindergarten to pre-teen class!

Good work, Tally!

Howdy Y’all! I have procured a new dishwasher. I really hadn’t intended to buy but just begin lookin’ but I found a really good Maytag dishwasher at Lowe’s and got a deal on it that includes installation and gettin’ rid of the old one. The old one still works, but sometimes it takes a while to do it’s thing and given that it is almost twenty-one years old I know this is the right time to do this. Plus I used my seldom used Lowe’s charge card and got 12 months same as cash. I can pay it off easily within twelve months. I’m told it will be installed either Thursday or Firday and that I’d get a call the day before. Fine by me as I have no plans for either day so I can hang at da cave. Speakin’ of which, I did dust and vacuum today. I don’t think I’ll worry about cleanin’ the kitchen or bathrooms or moppin’ floors etc until next week however.

BatKid congrats on the grades! The projects look tres !

DeeDee welcome to the MMP and yay for a day off. Before I retired at the end of this past July I took off a buncha one day a week days and my last two weeks before retirement were vacation. So nice! I’m sure the doggies are beyond thrilled to have mommy’s undivided attention.

Sari yay for Sah-son’s grades!

WetOne yay for gettin’ to see your relatives especially since I take it they are relatives you actually like.

ruble yay for Santa beard! I’m with ya and Tom T. Hall on likin’ beer!

Butters yay for vacation next week!

doggio yay for cold beer and warm Gordie!

Rockin’ sounds like a good TDay plan to me.

ETA: CupCakes I shall go read the sermon. Apparently our Interim Rector’s sermons are not bein’ posted on the church website. I shall have to look into the reason why.

Jennshark (Jaws? Fins? You must be nicknamed) yay for Tally! You do realize, of course, mention of puppy and/or kitty requires pics, right?

CupCakes I just listened/read along. WHOA! Very powerful message there. I think folks, religious minded or not might get sump’n out of that. I’m really glad there is audio. The man is a fantastic preacher!

Well OK then. I’ll just talk to myself! Sketties 'n meatballs with sallit and garlic bread have been ingested. Full, happy tummies here. That is all.

My supper was leftover pulled poke with applesauce and chips. Ice cream for dessert. Chillage is underway. I need to empty the dishwasher, but that’ll be the extent of productivity.

You know, I’d never seen that there is an audio option1 I’m glad one can listen as well as read., sound really adds something.

swampy, yay for the new dishwasher. Lowe’s is where I bought the washer, dryer and patio table.

Vaccuuming is done, leftovers have been nuked and the clothes are in the dryer. They just announced on the news that our (ex)county sheriff is now off the job. He’s under federal indictment and incarcerated in Kentucky. http://www.newschannel5.com/news/sheriff-robert-arnold-suspended-without-pay Only in Tennessee. :smack:

I’m cooking up some meatballs in sketti sauce but we’ll eat the meatballs on some rolls. I’ll use the left over sauce over chicken tomorrow.

I had my New Water Heater thrown at me at Home Despot.
I did not realize that people could run so fast.

Wow, swampy, one dishwasher! My dad had three! Me and my two sisters!

OYKW is still around, so this is a backup.

Profound Baker Thanks for sharing.

We had leftovers as the trash collectors come tomorrow.

There is a new auditor type here for a few days so I have a managers meeting to attend first thing in the morning and he will make his way around to each facility spot checking. I had no hits on the last audit so mayhap he will skip that walkabout. Louie did not go to irk today in case he came by. I missed my dog so much. I think I will take him tomorrow and let the chips fall where they may.

The weather here is so pleasant. Still need A/C but not stifling. The moon is gorgeous. I shall peek at it a few more times tonight. Not another one until 2034. Better get it while the getting is good.

I drank a little port in the back yard, looking at the moon.
Rather bright, but the same ol’ moon.

:dubious:

:dubious: :dubious:

Boo! Hiss! Swingannamiss! You blew it! It’s not every day you get to call a lady, “Hey Double Ds” & have her respond! & not by slapping you in the face

You just know the talk in the Lowe’s breakroom next week: “Ugggh, I needs me a new job; that delivery we did last week, Dis-GUST-ting; it wasn’t dusty, but the dirty kitchen & unmopped bathroom floors. The Cleaver’s place it sho wasn’t” ::shudder::

ECHO ECHO Echo Echo

Aw Hell, that’s nothing. PA just elected a new Attorney General last week because the last one was convicted of perjury stemming from leaking Grand Jury testimony to try to discredit someone who used to work in her office. Part of the scandal took out two State Supreme Court justices related to inappropriate emails. I contend they aren’t bigoted or misogynistic since they hit all groups equally. :dubious:

Once people realized they could throw things at you, all of a sudden Usain Bolt is considered a slow-poke! :o
As to the OP, today I got credit for something I did at irk.

On the down side, I didn’t come straight home from irk most of the nights last week. Today I did, & I left a few minutes late. First pitch-dark crush hour commute of the season.
In other news, Mongo was apparently in Philly recently:

Just wrapped up my day off with a nice dinner out with my son. Monday is “Mom’s gonna buy me dinner night,” which has been our tradition for the past couple of years.

Jenn, congrats on your star pupil! I’ve been wanting to enroll my terrier, Dexter, in some classes. I’m hoping he can learn a few things, and hopefully calm the hell down. He’s a sweet boy, but is the most excitable dog I’ve ever encountered.

And Swampy, count me in as a member of the Dishwasher-from-Lowe’s club. I got a sweet deal on mine with a price match, and also did the 12 months same as cash deal. I’ve been eyeing the refrigerators there, but have resisted the urge so far.

Not looking forward to work tomorrow. It’s gonna suck, from what I can tell so far. In between all the paperwork stuff I have waiting for me, I have to find some time to go shopping for a Christmas tree and decorations for my company’s entry in a charity auction event. At least it’ll get me out of the office for a bit!
