Guin's first Evening Gown

For my Titanic dinner.

What do you think?

It’s a lot nicer in person. It’s a lighter blue-more of a greyish, because of the black overlay, with black flocking, glitter, and blue and silver bugle beads. I’m going to gather it a bit to one side with a brooch of sorts so I don’t trip and to make it look more “period.” We’re also going to find a way to fashion little sleeves, and I’m going to get black opera gloves and a little rhinestone tiara at Claires!

Mmmmm…opera gloves. I wore them to a thing a couple years ago. The only drag is during the meal. You have to take them off or flip them up. I asked a relative what to do in the glove-meal situation, and she said her daughter left them ON!!! I could hardly believe it, but I think it’s an option. Anyone out there know for sure?

Oh wow. Look at the time. It’s … I have to … um, yeah. Bye.

They come off during the meal. If you eat with gloves on, your hands turn green and fall off.

Plus, taking them off slowly and deliberately looks really cool. (Watch Gypsy & see)

Guin, lovely dress, you’ll look beautiful and have so much fun.

Guin, I love that gown! I’ve seen a picture of you, and I can say that the dress will look much better on you than it does the model.

One does remove one’s gloves before eating. Enjoy the Titanic dinner, let me know how it turns out.

Have fun, and I know you’ll look gorgeous.

THat is a really pretty dress!!

And I love opera length gloves. I used to wear them back when I was dancing. It had the added benefit of not having to touch the tables and stuff

Wow. Pretty please post some pictures after this shindig? Sounds really cool.

**Guinastasia, ** have you ever read the following?

One of the funniest things I ever read online, and when I saw your dress, and saw the party would have a “Titanic” theme, I thought you might like to see the story.

Guin, you’ll be a knockout in that dress.

I, too, would love to see pix afterwards.

I highly recommend removing the gloves during the meal as they make licking ones fingers rather awkward. At the end of the meal you may put the gloves back on and then use the arms to wipe your face.

Great dress, Guin. May you be seated next to Gregory Peck’s grandson… or Glenn Miller’s… or Mitch Miller’s… or “Mitch” from Baywatch (hey, he’d be pretty handy in a shipwreck with his jetski).
