In November, Guin will be boarding the RMS Titanic

You heard correctly!

I can’t wait! In Greensburg PA, the Four Points Sheraton Hotel is hosting an historical reenactment called “The Last Dinner on the Titanic”. And Yours Truly is attending!

I’m getting an Edwardian gown, a tiara, jewelry, gloves, etc. Several of my friends from the online community will be going as well. They assign you the identity of a passenger from the ship, and they will be featuring an eleven course dinner straight from the menu on that ill-fated April 14, 1912!

GO ME!!!

Here is more information!

YES!!!

I hope the salads aren’t perpared with iceberg lettuce!

I’ll be here all week, folks.

Oh Wow! That looks like a blast. I wanna go:(

Watch out for the cockie leckie, Guin!!!

Hint: Don’t eat less than a half-hour before the boat sinks, or else you’ll cramp up in the water.

Show up wearing a lifejacket.

Big Laffs!

You just THOUGHT you had sigs turned off!

Sounds like an interesting menu, too. I love big, long, coursed meals like that–the dinner itself can be such entertainment, if done right.

Congrats, Guin!

Oh, and your dress is gorgeous! I love those Edwardian gowns.

Well… Have a great time… Sure will be vastly different without the hypothermia, though…

In 1999 in Orlando, I went to a Titanic exhibit that had stuff brought up from the ship. The odd thing was there were actors dressed up in period costumes. They would walk around and talk about everything in character. The idea was that the actors and the visitors to the exhibit were actually on the Titanic and you had to play the part. So nobody ask any questions like “How many people survived?” or “When did it sink?” Most of the characters were dressed in tuxedos and gowns, but there were a few immigrants. It sure was odd listening to the actors with authentic accents playing people that were going to die.
But it was really strange watching a couple in Hawaiian shirts talking to another couple wearing a tuxedo and evening gown!

Chef Rambo??!!

Historically speaking, was the meal finished before the collision? Are they going to evacuate you to a small diner in mid-course?

Wow Guin that sound like a blast! Have a great time!

“Chef Rambo” ?
Hmmm…

Are you gunning to be a passenger who lives or dies?

After you finish eating you must wait 30 minutes befor swiming young lady.
(impressive post count Guin)

So how do you know that you won’t be assigned the identity of one of the third class immigrant passengers from below decks? Just wondering, really. Does anybody get to be the the captain or crewmembers?

I dare you to show up wearing an inflatable ring around your waist.

Congrats on your 10K, Guin.

Don’t forget your rubber ducky!
